Marie's New Years Resolution~in July

You're on a roll girl! Now that DH got the okay to join you on the running/walking.....there'll be no stopping you! Sounds like you have a busy, but fun weekend ahead. Have a drink for me tonight. :teeth:
 
I'm so excited for you & your DH to start running together. Since he's been running up until the surgery (I think), he might bounce back & be able to run farther than you at first...but ask him to stick with you, so that you don't end up run/walking by yourself. It's much much easier with someone else. Keep each other motivated. It's all coming together now.

I'm so proud of you with your challenge. You might just reach that target yet, the month isn't even 1/2 way over yet. :banana:

I've been waaay behind on everything! Glad to hear your DH is on the mend! I'm way behind on my exercise too, but I still want to make a run for it...see how close I can get!


I have a challenge...anyone up for this one? No chips....none...nada...no potato chips, sun chips, cheetos, doritos, or any other amalgamation of chip. 30 days...any takers?

ok...first of all, I think I had a drink for EVERYONE on the DIS last night!!! :rolleyes1 :smooth: It wound up being me, DH, Mike,my boss,her DADH and another co-worker....WE HAD A BLAST!! Went to the Gibson Lounge....Danielle Peck was awsome....and I don't like country music. The opening group was called Country Grammer...or something like that...they were really good too!!! Anyway, I took my camera....shot 112 photos!!! God we had fun!! Got home about 12:30 ish....got to bed about 2 ish. Got up this morning at 6...the first time...then 9 the second time!! :rolleyes1

I can't wait to start running again. DH and I are going to start back up tomorrow morning. He's ready too. I know he'll be able to run a little faster than me, and that's ok...he's in training for a job, so he's got to be quicker...at least it will motivate me to get out there and do it. That seems to be my problem....I like being lazy...not fat, just lazy! :teeth:

Ok Linda....I'll take the CHIP CHALLENGE!! That one is a good one....and I think I need to go back to the SWEET TEA CHALLENGE as well. I told DH not to make anymore....I'm not disciplined enough yet. (Amber, you gonna join us on this one?) Also, I have one for Kim....WALK A MILE IN MY SHOES CHALLENGE. For every mile that you run, I will have to walk/run at least half of if. I know your saying HALF MY @$$!!, but you have to understand....you've been doing this longer than me and I need to get back into it gradually....AND the farther you go, the more you get to torture me. :stir: ...not to mention it gets us both moving again.
So, whaddya say??? You in?? Anyone else in?? Let me know...I'll check back in the morning...gottta go get ready for the wedding!

Damn, ladies. I don't check in for one day, and there are challenges all over the place!!!

I'm in for the chip challenge. When does it start? Are we all officially starting on a certain day? (I'm gonna miss those garden salsa sunchips :guilty: )

And I'm in for the walk a mile in my shoes challenge. Are we doing this weekly, like this week I run 10 miles, then you have next week to walk/run 5 miles? You think out the details and let me know how you want to work it. (you better work, work it girl :banana: )

And absolutely you should do the sweet tea challenge again. Why not do the sweet tea/chip challenge together!

Anyone savvy enough to make up little graphics, or are we just gonna type them out in our siggies?? :confused3
 
Do Goldfish crackers and pretzels count as chips? If so, count me in! I don't have a problem avoiding potato chips, but there is something about pretzels and Goldfish... :rolleyes1
 
What a day.....what a weekend....
I'm a little mad right now...kids acting like idiots...dog tore up one of the cushions on my patio set...just a little out of sorts.
DH and I did 2 miles today...we didn't time it, so I'll use 30 minutes...it was a good pace. Also, I'm using 60 minutes for yesterdays wedding. It was 6 hour coverage....non-stop....but I'll only count 1 hour for the challenge.
I was so dang tired last night....we got done shooting at 10, but my body thought it was 1!! I crawled into bed at 10:30, gave DH a kiss and didn't move until 7 this morning. Wow....I guess I'm not the party dawg I thought I was. You know the saying....IF YA CAN'T HANG WITH THE BIG DOGS, STAY ON THE PORCH.....well, this puppy will be watching from the porch from now on! It's funny, I didn't get drunk...I remember everything about Friday night...I think I was just dehydrated and over tired. Oh well.
I'm gonna post some pics in a little bit.
Hope ya'll are having a good weekend. Me...I'm glad it's over.

Hey Marie - I'm right there with ya. I am SO glad this weekend is over! It was a long, busy, crazy weekend and I look forward to "relaxing" at work tomorrow. :rotfl:

You're really doing great with your exercise challenge and congrats on getting out there with DH and pulling out 2 miles!!! That's AWESOME! :yay:

How about we start the chip challenge tomorrow? You guys ok with that? I didn't have any today - but that way we all start on the same day.

Let's hope for a better week for both us, k? :thumbsup2

I couldnt find any clippies that worked so I just put it in my siggie written out. Anyone better at clippie stuff ?

PS, I did 4 miles today Marie! actually I guess it was more like 7 total, but i dont know for sure on the last 3. :banana:

Wow....day one was TOUGH on the CHIP & TEA Challenges.
It's boss's day, and everyone brought in chips & dips, and donuts. (I made brownies)
AND I RESISTED ALL OF IT!!!
We did have Chilli for lunch, and everyone was getting Frito's with theirs. I had mine plane!! Oh, I did have 5 french fries...it was Wendy's chilli...and you HAVE to have fries w/ it...it's a rule!
Anyway, I also resisted the brownies, the candy drawer, and the candy corn!!! I've had 60 oz of water so far....working up to 80. It's pouring down rain tonight, so no running. Too much homework w/ the kids....gonna have to go beat my son in a second. I hate this fall break crap!! The kids just get into a routine, then they get a week off!! STUPID STUPID STUPID....if ya ask me!!

ok....just thought i'd brag for a second!! gotta get started on the beatings!!

Now THAT my friend is AMAZING!!! It's not like you resisted one or even two things. You resisted a whole bunch of tempting things all day long. Way to go!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Good day....NOT!!!!
Got up at 6, did 30 minutes on the treadmill...approx 1 1/2 miles. Went to work...made it through with no breakfast...I know...STUPID...but I was running late, and it was either brush my teeth, or eat....sorry, but teeth won! :teeth: Well, of course there was more chips and dips, and cheese and crackers...I had a few crackers w/ cheeseball stuff on them...THEN I'm called by my boss that I have to go to lunch with her, and the owner of the dealership...cheeseburger, fries and water.....can you say...PIG?? I actually only ate 1/2 the cheeseburger because I'd had the cheese and crackers earlier. I had actually counted the cheese & crackers as my lunch, because I didn't know I'd have to go to lunch w/ them. :confused3 Anyway, what's done is done. I will do the treadmill again in the morning...it was actually kind of nice. It's in the garage, so I can open the door a little bit and get the cool morning air, without the danger of being run over by a psychotic Memphis driver...what a deal!! :thumbsup2
Anyway, DH had a meeting after work, so I had to get the kids, then help w/ homework, then a mom needed a copy of DD homework for her son, then the neighbor called and had a flat tire and was walking w/ her 3 kids on a busy road so I went and got her, came home, threw on some jeans, took DD for soccer pics, grabbed her friend, came home and had pizza!!

30 minutes on the treadmill, 80 oz of water.
everything else sucked!!

Quit your whining! I didnt see any chips there, right?
 
Teeth or eat? I know that dilemma. I'll grab a granola bar to eat in the car, but then I have junk stuck in my teeth - nice! :crazy:

Good job resisting all the goodies on Monday and then resisting the chips & dip today too!
