1. Will the atmosphere be overly rowdy - meaning too many drunk and disorderly folks? I assume not, as many kids are around, and it's kind of a family atmosphere? I love a good party, but the two friends I would be with might be a bit put off!
While there is plenty of liquor, I agree it's not as bad as
HHN. I was surprised Saturday that Kid Rock started cursing while there were plenty of kids still leaving the park, but that probably won't be the case with George Thoroughgood.

2. Will we be likely to get 3 or 4 rides/attractions in between 5 and 7 p.m.?
Probably at least 1 or 2, but keep in mind, people stake out their spot on the curb
early for the parade.

3. What food could we get in the park other than the Mardi Gras stuff? Or would we need to go to Citiwalk?
On Saturday, Finnagin's served food until just after the concert started (8:30-8:45), tho they kept pouring drinks until the park closed. I believe Monsters Cafe was still open until the end of the parade, as well. After the concert, you'll have to hit CityWalk.
Keep in mind, the "Mardi Gras stuff" includes such traditional New Orleans fare as...pizza. Not gumbo pizza or anything, just pizza.

4. We aren't really going to watch the band, just the parade - do you think there's enough to do and see to be worth the after 5 p.m. ticket?
Tough call, honestly. If the parade is your top priority, you really should grab your space by 6:30 or 6:45, which limits the number of rides you can do. Keep in mind, the parade is maybe 20 minutes long. On the other hand, your ticket is also good for CityWalk (which is $10 right there), but if you're bringing kids, that's not really an option. Personally, I'd wait for a band that interests me (if you are from the general area), or rearrange my schedule and spend the extra $20 to go for the whole day. Just my opinion.
