Mardi Gras? What time to arrive

My sister and husband will be going to US for the first time 3/7 and may go early and come back later in day for mardi gras parade and concert. Is it recommended that they return by a certain time. Do they ever close the gates for re-entry during Mardi Gras festivities.

No...the park is open until 8pm that night so you can enter right up until that time. If you want to get a good spot for the parade, try to arrive around 6:30 or so. Last week I got there around 5:45pm and had dinner at Louie's. Then around 6:45pm I got a spot for the parade. If you want to get a good spot for the concert, you might want to get there and stake out your spot around 6pm. I think BNL will draw a large crowd so the good spots will be gone early in the evening.

Call me whatever.But I wonder why they didnt slope the yard that way everyone could see??If your under 6Ft tall and standing in the back good luck seeing when its crowded!!IMO

Elevation issues I would imagine. It would either be stairs down or stairs up...they really have the same thing at Fear Factor...it's just not covered.

so where is a good place to stand for the parade. We are going the end of March. Not interested in the concert afterwards so if there is a place that we could watch the parade from but be close to an escape from the crowds when it is over so we can hit an exit easy that would be great.

The parade route is so long you can stand just about anywhere. I stood on the lagoon side across from Mel's which is near the end of the route. It was nice over there and since you aren't going for the concert, you can head down Hollywood Blvd and make a quick exit.

if just seeing the parade and then getting out of Dodge is what you want then you might consider being by the main store near the entrance to the park. You will most likely not get many if any beads at that location since it is a corner a lot of people will be there.

Where is the stage exactly?
I never go to Universal, but I am going tomorrow night for the BNL concert.

I am not really interested in the parade, just being close to the stage.
