Mardi Gras Questions???

Hi- We will be at UO March 6 & 7. I'm trying to plan our days and was
wondering what USF does for Mardi Gras (The Friday we are there)
other than the parade at night. Are there events during the day also?
Is the parade after the park closes (8:00pm) and how long does it
last?
If we will be there Thurs. and Friday, would you recommend going
to USF on Thurs. to avoid the mardi gras crowds, then over to IOA on
Friday; or do you think it wii make no difference? We will be annual
pass holders staying at the HRH. Thanks so much!!! Jill

Ok, if you go on Friday March 7th you will see a house band and the parade. They have Cajun food areas around if you want to try that but that's basically it. They will have street performers, stilt walkers, acrobats during the day that's all.

If you go on Thursday you will not see anything the event runs Fri, Sat, Sun.

So do IOA Thursday and USF Friday.

The park really doesn't close but at 8pm is when the parade starts and it is like 25 minutes long and as soon as it's over the Concert starts, that's like 30 minutes and then the park closes.

If they do it the same way that they did it last year. On Friday night the concert will be before the parade start. I think it started about 45 min before, the band preformed for 30 min and then they brought some Universal people on the stage to really pump the crowds up. On Sat night they deffinately do the concert after the parade.
