The first Mardi Gras Parade of the season today in Ocean Springs, MS. We have our spot saved going to buy the chicken now. Just love to spend time with the family there. Hope to post some pictures tonight.

I can hardly wait! I love Mardi Gras. My mother lives in Mobile and when I was in HS our band marched in all the parades. Back then they paid the bands $50/parade. We raised enough money to buy our uniforms. Next week I'm taking DD17 down there to visit my mom and we're going to take her to the Order of the Incas parade. I am so excited! I haven't been to a Mardi Gras parade in about 35 years. Throw me somethin', mister!

Our daughter is a maid in a Mardi Gras krewe and will get to ride in a Corvette convertible! She's so excited. We have to buy her some throws.

My daughter is marching in a parade tomorrow (Perseus in Slidell, LA) and one next Sunday (Dionysus). It's her first year doing parades (she's only 4) and we're both pretty excited! We (the parents) got to see a preview last night at the parents meeting and she tried VERY hard. I'm so proud of her! We'll see how long she walks before she tells me she's tired. Just a few months ago, she walked almost the entire time at Disney World. Total different setting though, so she might tire out pretty quick =)
