Mardi Gras dressed characters at the resorts.....

We are staying at PO for Mardi Gras for the second year in a row. We will be watching the parade and enjoying the nighttime festivities at the French Quarter as we did last year. I have, however, seen on several websites that there are Mardi Gras themed characters at other resorts during the day. We will not be going to the parks and we we wondering if someone could help us out with other Mardi Gras themed characters in other resorts on Fat Tuesday. Any help would be appreciated.
