I am thinking about booking a solo trip to escape the IL coldness 2/9-2/13. I normally stay at RP but will probably end up at Cabana Bay since it’s just me. How insane are the crowds the first Mardi Gras weekend? I don’t really care about the parade or concert. I’m more concerned about explored HP area and the rides.

I will be at UO Feb 9-14. I have no idea how crowded it will be, but I will say there are few rooms left at CBBR for those dates so based on that it may be busy.

You might want to consider Aventrura if you haven't.
Its a short walk to SF and RP - its more hipster\business hotel themed - but its nice to just walk over to SF and RP .

I think that is February vacation week for some schools (not sure) but you can probably tell by hotel availability

I think you’re right about February vacation. There is very limited availability at the hotels. Looks like it’s going to be packed!

It's busy. Single rider lines will be your friends. The concert may be busy - of course, if the concert's busy then the crowds are just standing around listening rather than cluttering up ride lines and HP areas....

We are down for our 1st Universal trip the 9th-11th. Our school district has a three day weekend for Presidents’ Day (16-18). I rather hoped that the 9th-15th would be a slow week before the holiday. Skunked again. LOL

If you look closely at hotel availability I think a lot of people are checking in on the 13th for a long presidents day weekend. Hotel availability is actually pretty open the 9th-12th. So I think you will see a big upswing from the 13th on.

This is reflected on the TP crowd calendars. The 9th-13th are rated at a 3 and the 14th onward is 6+.

Pretty empty today. I strolled into IOA around 10:30, Spider Man was 10 min wait, Kong and Jurassic Falls were walkons, FJ was only 15 min, Hogwarts Express was 10, Gringotts was 15, and Mummy 10. I did all those in a couple of hours (used single rider for a few).
