Mardi Gras 5pm pass

My husband and I are interested in buying the after 5 pm pass to go to the Mardi Gras party and see One Republic on March 25th. We haven't been to Universal in years, so we're not really sure of how the Mardi Gras works.

If we get to Universal at 5, would we have enough time to go on any rides? We are really looking forward to seeing One Republic...will the concert be outside with seating, or is it just everyone stand around and watch? And, if we want to see the concert, should we wait around the concert area at 5pm? I'm not exactly sure what time the concert starts. I saw that Universal closes at 8pm, so I figured the parade and all would start then and the concert would be after. Is that correct?

Do you think it'd be worth our money to get the after 5 pass? Or should I try and convince my husband to get a full day pass?

Since the park closes at 8pm that night, everything will be open until then...including rides but OneRepublic is going to draw a huge crowd for the concert. You will need to head over to the band shell around 5pm if you want to get up close. There are no seats...it's all standing room only. If you want to see the parade and the concert, I would stand in the back so you can see both. There are huge video screens on either side of the stage so you can see the band. If you aren't concerned with the parade, try to get there early and stake out your spot.

I think the after 5pm pass would be fine for what you want to do.

Have been looking for these after 5 tix everywhere. Where can they be found. Probably in plain sight and i've overlooked. Any help would be great.

They can be purchased online or at the gate and are for FL residents only. I don't know if they are located in any stores or not...I haven't really paid any attention.
