Yay! I saw that they announced that the parade would be at 745 on concert nights. What time do the concerts start at? 8PM?

So what does this mean for someone that doesn’t care about the concerts? Our first trip so I’m clueless!

Wow some great concerts. 3 doors down is so good. Wish I was going for that one. I will be there for Goo Goo Dolls, Is the concert free? How do I find more information about it?

We will also be there for Goo Goo dolls! My inner 90s teenager is pretty pumped actually. It's my kiddo's 11th birthday too. According to the OI website, they're at Music Plaza stage in USF and begin at 8:30pm.

I have seen that people tend to line up well in advance for some of the newer, more popular acts. I'm excited about it but not willing to wait a ton of time for a good spot lol. So even if we just hear them from afar that's probably good enough for me.

We got there 2 hours before Styx and it was crazy packed by the time they started.

Wow, that's a lot of people! Did 2 hours before get you right to the front? Were you able to sit down while you waited? We'll have 2 kiddos in tow so waiting 2 hours when there's lots of fun stuff to do around them probably isn't going to fly

We were about half way back and sat in the fake grass till it started.
I’m guessing front row is about 3-4 hours before.

Do they have big screens up so you can see the acts from a distance or if you are on the grass, you just get to listen? We have two small kids and would love to go parade and then follow the masses over to the concert. As long as there is a place to sit (even if its grass) I think we could live with that. Would be nice though if the kids could see something.

Right, but do they affect crowds? Park hours? Are the concerts in the park?
Not particularly. The concerts are located at the stage right beneath RRR. Rides are still running, food places still open. Crowds in general are a little higher because of the Mardi Gras parade and special food/drink booths. No extra ticket required, so you are just taking a couple thousand people away from the attractions and putting them at the concert. No impact at IoA -

Based on last year's lineup, I assume this is about half of them, maybe a bit more.

It has the date I wanted that's all I cared about lol. But yes I think later dates might be released next month?

Last year they had the full 16 concert lineup out by January 13th.
Maybe they are cutting back this year.

I do recall times in the past where the additional concerts near the end were announced later - maybe they are still negotiating with them IDK

So I guess the concerts must be dead since nobody is talking about them this year whereas last year there was a thread with alot of chatter.
