March vs. May--which is better?

I currently have a mid-March 2009 BW standard view ressie. I've never been in March before, and I hear it's super crowded. I've been in late April and mid-May and found the crowds manageable. Anyone been during both months? Is March as bad as I'm thinking it is?

Weather-wise, May is more predictable. I once arrived at the beginning of April and the first day, I'm not sure if it made it up to 60 the first day. (Drove though snow in the NC mountains and it was the coldest high temp Miami (not lowest low, but coldest high if that makes sense) ever recorded in April.
Crowds mostly depend on the Easter/Spring break cycle, so I cannot offer any more advise in March. I have always loved my end of May trips (really only busy Memorial day weekend)

I'd say mid May is better (as in less crowded). We went in mid March and it was pretty crowded due to Spring Break crowds. I have also been in mid May and it was much less crowded.

We went to Disney the first week of March in 2007 and the first week of May in 2008. What a difference, for us at least! In March, we were wearing pants and long sleeve shirts many of the days. Several days started out in the low 60's. It did warm up during the day, but we were pretty shocked at how cold it actually was. In May this year, we approached 90 on most days. I think the crowds were fairly similar both times of year. But in March, we were there before the spring breakers arrived. If I were to choose between these two, I would go in March just because we like touring the parks in cooler weather rather than in the heat and humidity. But we're from Maine, so I am sure that is why!

I would say May as well. We went the first week of May and it was nice (most school vacation are done). March is school vacation and college spring break.

well depends - March does have longer hours.

so when it crowded just go back to your resort - nap,relax, read a book, go shopping - then later go back to the parks.

you are staying onsite - so you can leave and come back.

March can be beautiful - everything is blossuming - some plants and trees only have flowers in March. So it can be pretty special.

May is also a great month - May generally has the flower/garden festavial - but it looks like WDW is changing the dates again - and making it start earlier.

so hope it will still continue until the end of May. avoid May that last week memorial day. Mother's day also avoid if you can.

Waseller77 is correct - weather is hard to predict for March. One year the temperature was down right cold. then again cold at WDW means you can get more exercise. but last year it was just fine (80's/60's)

Think March - the flowers just make it so different.

sense you don't have to see everything - like everyone else who is just has to be in the parks - you can enjoy what mother nature is showing you.
