March Trip Thread

We're home from our trip. The fort was hopping! The food truck area, beach, and playground seemed quite busy each night. Cast members at the campground were all friendly and sites and roads seemed clean and orderly.

Overall, it was a great trip!

Thanks for the effort you put into posting updates and pictures, @ruthies12. I really did appreciate it!

heading down I-75 and stopping overnight at the KOA in Jennings FL.
Glad you had a good trip.
KOA in Jennings is a great spot.
We have used it twice and they been very accommodating, especially since we are almost 65' long :drive::rolleyes:

these are from the last week of February but close enough
and the quiet pool next to the cabins is under construction
I'm curious...did you know about the quiet pool closure prior to your visit? If so...where did you find out? I was at the Fort (in a cabin) this past Saturday and Sunday and only found out about the pool upon arrival. [This trip was last minute (relatively; less than two months) so the ten-month-in-advance calibre research didn't happen.]
Great pics btw!

no, we got a loop close to the pool so i was pumped i could walk there only to find it closed. the website states April 2023 closure. could be a mis-print....

I recall reading something about the little pool closure in January/February before my mid-January trip. It could have been on here or in the News/Rumors forum, but the date was after our trip so I didn't pay much attention. I don't recall seeing anything posted or handed out at the Fort.

I rather doubt it's a misprint - the notice I keep seeing on the website refers to the Meadow pool (the main pool).

I was told when I was talking to a CM in the Outpost when I arrived - but if I hadn't gone in there (I did online check-in), I would have discovered it when I showed up at the pool in a bathing suit. :sad1: Your post was the first time I've seen it mentioned online (after the fact), so kudos!

At night I walked to the pool anyway, and the walk itself was beautiful. Also glad they kept the pool area lights on, as it was pretty destination for a short dark stroll.

I have a bit of an emotional attachment to the Fort, and wrote a little bit about it in another post, but the lack of communication around this closure (not the closure itself) has left a bitter aftertaste, you know? I wish it didn't - but, there it is. Wouldn't serve anyone if I pretended otherwise anyway.

Okay, interesting! I believe I'm going to have to exorcise this annoyance by attempting to contact someone at Disney. I'd feel better if the situation was acknowledged.

As this is the March trip thread, I could mention that I found all of the transportation at the Fort -- internal and to/from the parks -- to be friendly, helpful (bus drivers!) and quite efficient. Rather exceeded my expectations.

We were in loop 2800 and it was pretty neat to periodically see a trail of horses amble through our 'back yard'...
