March travellers - another question about clothing

You might think I am a little weather obsessed - and you would be right!

Are you taking full (padded) winter coats for your March holiday?
I had planned on us wearing thermals (top and long-johns), long sleeve tops
, covered by a fleece and then a waterproof raincoat (pac-mac type thing). I have so much to squeeze into our two pull-along holdalls as it is and I really don't have the space for thick coats. But now I am beginning to wonder if we will be too cold?

It is not helping that I am watching the daily fluctuations in the 10day weather reports

I am also planning to dress in layers...however, I'm not taking thermals because I don't get cold easily.

We're planning on long sleeve Tshirts, fleeces or jumpers and lightweight waterproof all weather coats i.e. Regatta or similar. ( I have my DLRP one, which is a lightweight rubbery material with a fleece lining and is extremely cosy).
This is the kind of gear we wore in 2004 when it was bitterly cold and rain/sleeting and it served us well.
If you've already got thermals I'd take those as well, but let's hope we won't need them.
I'd shy away from heavy woollen coats or similar just in case it's raining.

I bet these weather sites have never had so many hits.

Our coats are of the thin fold-away kind. They sound lighter than yours so I think we are more likely to need the thermals. When I looked at the weather forecast last week it looked like 10-13 degrees. Now it says 5-9 degrees!

i plan to take fleeces, thermals, long tee-shirts, and pac a mac, its been mild these past two days, but i will take the hats, scarves, gloves and umbrealla, i don't really want to take my heavy coats as they aren#'t waterproof.

What a dilemma! I just don't know what to take any more regarding a coat, I've put together various options for layering (including a thermal vest), but aside from that I don't know whether to take a thicker (showerproof) coat or a waterproof jacket. I have a pac-a-mac thing so I could wear the thicker coat and pack that for if it's wet and not so cold, but then I don't want to lug the thicker coat if it's unecessary....

Maybe a weather check on Wednesday would give a better idea of temperatures and how much rain to expect?

I'm just so glad there are only two of us, must be a total nightmare for a family of 4 or more!

We are taking thickish sweaters with room to put tops underneath and I'll take my waterproof coat that is very nice and warm, thick coats might be a bit tricky going in and out of the shops etc.

We certainly are, can't wait! I hope you like the DLH, have you stayed there before? I would love to stay there but we also love the Cheyenne and it's cheaper!
It's my Husbands birthday when we are there so there will be a yummy cake after dinner in Cafe Mickey!

I hope your DH has a great birthday - and that you enjoy your slice of cake(I can think of no better place to spend it!). We have not been to the DLH before - we were booked for the Explorers again but decided to give ourselves a treat
I did not manage to get the lime green ribbon organised - although my case labels are almost lime green LOL

emmo we are also staying at the cheyenne 14th-18th march, i will be the one with dh dragging his feet, he really doesn't want to go, jake, hyped up with the cowboy theme, libby in her princess dresses and emma in a buggy, she got excited today with the tv advert of disneyland, i am more excited then they are, can't sleep with all the stuff planned going on in my head, of to buy the ribbon tomorrow.

I am getting more and more excited by the hour, My Husband told me that the weather reports he has read say it will be sunny and no rain so keep your fingers crossed.!
Has your husband been to DLP before, If not I'm sure he'll love it, I never thought my Husband would get into it but he seems to love it too, just not as much as me!

The cowboy themeing is great and you'll all love it I guarantee it!

nope we haven't been to dlp before, and matt, (dh) really is going for the kids sake, he will be in the spirt of things (if it kills me), but i will be more excited then any or them, i am wondering if to buy a cowboy outfit for jake to take with us, as libby has her princess dresses and emma has her minnie mouse dress, i have also looked at the weather forcast and from tuesday next week, its sunny spells around 7-9 degress, so hopefully we will be dry and warm.

Jane it took me 12 years to persuade my DH to go, I'd nagged about going since it opened but he wasn't having any of it, even when I went and booked the first time, he still wasn't sure and he can't understand why I want to keep going back, but he does admit that after all he said he really enjoyed it the first time and that the rides are out of this world, but he still doesn't get the "Disney Magic" bit. Your DH won't have time to drag his feet, you'll be so busy, he might even surprise you and come back a Disney convert.
