March Reservation - Holding Points?

I had a reservation for the last week of the month.

Since we were the ones that did not cancel the reservation, I assume my points will not go into the holding bucket.

Since it is impossible to get through to MS, can anyone confirm?

Your reservation won't be cancelled if you do not do it, right? The resorts are open.

I cancelled my reservation online for my reservation which starts tomorrow. The points did not go into holding. They became regular use year points. I did it because I was frustrated at trying to get through to member services and knew I had to cancel no matter what.

If you cancel you may see points go into holding but they are removing the restriction. Some are saying they had the points returned without that happening but I did not.

But, if you don’t cancel it before check in, they will assume you are still coming. So, be sure to cancel it.

I don't know others experience, but I cancelled last night, my points went into holding and I had to do the MS dance this morning to get re-booked. All ended up perfect, but it took a looooooong call. it took 45 mins to get past the busy signal and then another hour to get CM on the line and then 45 mins to get the points moved around and new reservation booked. But we have a great trip to plan for June.

I'm in the same boat. June Use Year, so my points are basically worthless unless they let me bank them.

Me too. I have an April use year so my points for my March trip are pretty much lost unless they'll let me bank them.

I had a reservation for March 22-28. I called today (on hold for an hour after getting a busy signal all day) and got my 2019 and 2020 points put straight back into my account, immediately, no questions asked and no holding. I believe if you borrowed points, they will go back to the use year they came from. I would call and ask them if you can bank your points even if you are past your banking deadline. They are making major exceptions right now and they are eager to please. Disney is doing this right.

I finally got through to Member Services to cancel a reservation for March 29-April 4. I have an April use year, so the reservation crossed UYs. Apparently, the original reservation was made with a combination of banked 18 points, 19 points, and 20 points. When it was all said and done, the rep said that only 67 of the 227-point reservation had been restored to my 2020 allotment. Everything else is lost because the 18 points are unbankable and the 19 points expire the end of this month and are “unusable.”
I’m bummed. That’s a lot of wasted points.

a person on another board said they moved her borrowed points back into the future year (making them unborrowed).
and she also had points from the current year that were past the bank date, and the CM banked the points for her.
So it sounds like they're being very reasonable.

This was my experience as well. All of the points showed up immediately in 2019 UY (none in holding) and then I was placed on hold again so the agent could get the points that were borrowed returned to the 2020 UY.

I had an odd glitch. Because I used one holding point in a reservation, 47 of 57 points went into holding. The CM I spoke to seemed confused and put me on hold for a bit. She put in a ticket andshe said it should be fixed in 30 days.
