How does this work? They march down Hollywood Blvd to the main stage, right? Do they do a show then? If yes, how long is it? Thanks.

Last time I was there (in March) they marched down Hollywood Blvd and some went up on stage, some stay down in front of the stage right up close to the crowd. They have a little show with the head honcho (sorry I don't know names but it's a woman) getting all mean then they exit the stage and march off. I'm not even a Star Wars fan and I loved it. They also project it on a big screen at the end of the street behind the stage so if you can get up close you won't miss anything.

It's not really a parade like they've had there in the past.

I saw it in March.
It literally is just a dozen or so First Order Stormtroopers (with Captain Phasma) marching in step down the main street with loud theme music accompanying them.
Halfway down the street they stop and confront onlookers to "scare" them. And then go to the stage and are off. Not long at all, so if you blink you'll miss it.

It's really just a short "experience" to showcase the StormTroopers. It feels intimidating though :).
Not quite immersive since they are marching down an old-time Hollywood street, but once Galaxy's Edge is open, that will be pretty darn cool.

Worth stopping to catch if you happen to hear it happening.

Thank you so much! Have a 10 yr old who is a big Star Wars fan.

It's definitely cool. We just saw it a few weeks back. It's pretty much as above. Hang around when the march is over, some of the storm troopers stick around and will interact with guests, mostly kids. It's hysterical. Make sure your son gets to do that, he'll love it. Have him wear something Star Wars that day.

They also have some interactive characters in and around Launch Bay. It's fun. There was a thread on here not that long ago about Kylo Ren interacting with people and "scaring" them. It's great.

Yeah, sometimes the Storm Troopers are just walking around too (outside of the formal march) and they tend to "hassle" kids who are wearing SW gear if it is pro-rebellion or Jedi oriented. For example they may ask them to "Halt!" and then question them for a moment before sending them on their way. I suppose that could be scary depending on the kid, but it's reasonably playful. It's super fun to watch!

Oh my goodness we just did this last week and didn't really know anything about it. As others have said, they march down and some go to the stage then lines of them head right to where we all were in the crowd. We were right in the front and let me tell you even though I am a grown woman and know this is all an act having storm troopers right in front of me was so intimidating! Really funny just how startling it was for me. My kids and dh loved it. There were a few younger kids who were a bit shaken up by them.

If you look at the showtimes, go in front of the theater five minutes before and line up on the tape. There was a CM standing around, and I asked the best place to stand, and she showed me.
This was in June, when there was no stage set up... Not sure of that status now. There were maybe three families standing in the tape with us looking dumb for those few minutes before it started. The vast majority of guests don't even know what it is. Once the music begins, the crowds start to gather, and the CMs keep everyone out of the taped area. It's a short, but fun experience. It didn't take much time or effort, and we got some cool pictures.

The show with all of the characters on stage is a separate event. I think it is called A Galaxy Far, Far Away. Your son would probably love it too! We watched March of the First Order and then moved up to the taped off area to get a good spot to watch A Galaxy Far, Far Away.

The best place to see the characters is behind the stage when the show is over. They have a taped off area where they walk, you can get up close with all the characters. Very cool.
