March Eastern St. Thomas Docking, not Anchoring

Why would docking be bad news for scooter users.....didn't you complain previously that Disney wasn't set up very well for scooters with their tenders?

What does this mean exactly? Not being real familiar with the area, I've just planned to step off and get a taxi to Magan's Bay. I'm hoping too, there will be some shopping around the port. Can anyone give some details on Crown Bay and what the difference is docking there versus Havensight or tendering?

Thanks
Jenn

Will this make it harder to get to coral world on our own? What about shopping around this dock?

I clicked around a bit on the www.vinow.com site, saw that the other dock is in "Subbase", but that did not appear on the rudimentary island map on the site. Anyone know? In 5 cruises I have never tendered, always docked, so I am glad not to be tendering. I am also curious about what the previous poster knows about the docking location on March 9 and 23 that will make it bad news for folks with mobility issues. Was the "bad news" comment in comparison to tendering,or compared to the usual docking location by Havensight Mall?

I'm glad not to be tendering! Two of six ships (including us) will be docking at CB, so I'm sure taxis will be available - vendors wouldn't want to miss out on one-third of the money.

Tendering means......you drop anchor in the bay, and they use small boats called tenders to get you to the dock.

Docking means the ship ties up at the dock and you walk right off.

I can understand mobility issues with tendering, but not with docking since the Magic and Wonder are technically fully ADA compliant.
I say technically fully compliant, because even if you meet the letter of the law, you can still face civil suits.
My employer is stuck in the middle of a battle with an ADA advocate who says a ramp we have doesn't have an abrasive enough surfacing on it. The grit sand used meets the letter of the law, but this guy insists the final ramp is too slick. ADA folks say it meets the law , but this guy has filed a civil suit, he is an disabled attorney who appears to be making his entire living out of filing this type of suit. Apparently the ADA does allow this type of suit, even it all rules were followed. Pattern is this guy files suit, the defendant makes the changes he wants, and they pays him $10,000 to drop the suit.
So it looks like it will cost to $5000 to have the ramp repoured, $10,000 to get this guy to go away, all for a ramp that nobody uses.
