Hi: Is all of March crowded, or are there times in march that are better than others to avoid all the different spring breaks?

Thanks,

Deb.

Hi Deb,

Most of March is pretty crowded with spring breakers, but I think the first week of March would be the least crowded.

Bob

yep, the first week of march is the way to go in march, ok crowds. me & my fi went in the last week of february first week of march in 2003 & had a great time. the rest of march is fairly crowded & peak rates duw to spring break & easter.

We're going again during the first week of March and the crowds we've seen in the past have beek okay! I can't wait!

How bad are the crowds in mid-March? Anyone who's been, do you remember how long the wait times were? We went the week before Pres. Week last year and it was extremely crowded (apparently unusual for that time of year), the resorts were full to capacity, and there were line ups of 1.5 hours to get on rides such as Snow White's Adventure and Pooh's Honey Pots. Is it any more crowded than that in mid-March?

Hi All:

Thanks for your input, those who have been the last week feb/first of march what were the average temps while you were there. I am hoping for 70's.

Deb.

We were there for 2 weeks in late Feb/early March this year. The temps were below normal and my DH said he would never go that early again!!!

The crowds have been building at WDW the last few years, but I think for the most part the crowds are okay. Rides are definitely NOT a walk-on, but are certainly manageable if you take advantage of Fast Pass and EMH.

Easter 2006 is April 16, so I think even into late March should be fine ... the college spring breaks should be done and the HS/Elementary schools breaks will generally start early April and wrapping around Easter.

Having said all that, if you happen to have the misfortune to be there when there are special events (e.g. Cheerleading competitions, etc) that could all change.

Deb,

Averages for around March 1 are highs in the mid-70s and lows in the mid-50s.

But those are just averages! It has been known to get down into the low 40s in the morning, and it could also get into the mid 80s during the day.

Thanks Bob, that sounds perfect for me.

We were supposed to do the free dining plan , had it booked and all restaurants (what a deal) but my motherinlaw has taken a turn for the worse, so we had to cancel, I am trying to figure out another appropriate time with not alot of crowds but also not too hot 90's, or not too cold during the day 50's, plus we are driving thru the canadian winter.

I guess I am picky. lol

Deb.

We'll be there the first week of March (157 days, but who's counting?), so here's hoping the crowds stay down a little. The last time we went (also in March) the crowds were almost nothing. Just by skipping the water rides, and using FastPass and the 2001 version of Extra Magic Hours (E-Ride Night, I think it was called), we saw everything we wanted to see and had plenty of time for afternoon naps back at the BC.

Did the AK in a half-day. Finished the MK in about six hours. We skipped the E-Ride stuff (Big Thunder, Space, Mansion, Buzz, and some others) during the day, then picked them up a few nights later in about 2 hours total. Studios and Epcot both took a full day, but we still got naps and some time in the pool. Yay sleeping!

I was at WDW March 5-12 of this year. The crowds were EXTREMELY low! We did all of MK in less than one day. We never waited more than 10-20 minutes on a line (At Universal/IOA also) THe one and only time we used Fast Pass was on our last day in the parks- that Friday. Competition groups arrived the night before, and there was a 120 min wait for Test Track! But that was the one and only time it was needed.

Oh and the weather was perfect... upper 70s-low 80s. I wore capri pants and a t shirt every day, and needed a light jacket/sweatshirt in the early am and at night. It only rained once-- basically one whole day-- and it was chilly that day, low-mid 60's... but we put on our ponchos and made the best of it. It stopped raining by dinner time and we were able to catch Wishes that night:-)
