Can anyone tell me what the actual march break date is in 2011, im planning a cruise but im not sure when the march break starts

The Hamilton Board website has the March Break listed as Monday March 14 - Friday March 18, 2011.

They have not released the Lambton Kent calendar yet, but that sounds about right. We went on a Carnival Cruise last March and had a blast. Have fun!

The Hamilton Board website has the March Break listed as Monday March 14 - Friday March 18, 2011.

Based on last years dates this should be the same week for Halton Region.

The calendars for next year should be available pretty soon, if they are not already.

Hi - I teach for this board- Lambton Kent-- and it is definitely the week of March 14th Calendar has been approved by both the board and Ministry.

I just did a quick search and the ministry has approved next years calendars back in April.

Thanks for all the info I was hopping that was the date as we were planning for the 7 night eastern cruise that sails march 12 2011. Had been on the cruise meet thread and I had already been conversing with other dissers on that cruise date. thanks again i m relieved!

While I have no idea when spring break is for your school board, there are a variety of spring break schedules that will impact 2011 crowds at WDW.

Ok, I am venting...I just looked up our school calender and I'm mad that the one I didn't want got approved!!!!
I wanted the one that throws an extra day onto March Break because that is when we like to go to Florida...the one that got approved goes right to Dec 23 and they don't go back until Jan 10th! Really, how much work is going to get done that week before Christmas?
I liked it when they used to give the Fri before March Break off...nothing gets done that day either!

It would be great to have an extra day on March break. We are always scrambling to leave on the Friday. Looks like we get the week off before Christmas here than back right after New Year's. Maybe you could go away in the New Year since you'll have quite a bit of time afterwards?

We've never had a day tacked onto March break in the London area. We ended up with the earlier Christmas break (finish 17, go back the 3rd) despite the pleading by teachers that a little later (think the Wednesday 22) would have made more sense for programming, keeping the hype down etc. The hype happens no matter what the date, but keeping it in check until the week before Christmas gives us more time to teach before the excitement arrives. Oh well, it is what it is, and we'll survive.

Thanks for the ideas...but we prefer not to travel during Christmas vacation, just like to relax...We had the extra day tacked on to March Break 3 years in a row...it was so handy to have that extra day. I am on school council and they showed us to different calenders they were considering. One of them had the extra day at March break and off Dec 17, back Jan 3. That is the one I voted for. Now we have no extra day off at March break..kids are off Dec 23 and two full weeks after that!

We typically go to Florida every March break...it's nice to be able to leave the Thursday evening and beat the rush!

Oh well, hopefully we can go and that will make me happy enough

As far as the crowds in the parks go, does anyone have any idea as to whether visiting before or after my criuse which is from 12 of march 7 nights? Never been down there at this time of year and am not sure what to expect, do they have the same March break as we do ?
