Just got off the phone with Disney and a very helpful CM offered up some Free Dining info. He said that AP holders should keep an eye out on March 1st while general public would be able to book on March 5th. The dates he had were for August 25 through September 29. Not sure how accurate he is but we are certainly hoping that he is!! :wizard:

From my calculations rack rates go up for the month of October. I was going to go in October but now I'm thinking Labor day weekend.

Forget it, the rack rate difference is like $100. mod. not worth the kids missing school and missing MNSSHP.

Not awesome. Those dates are really late

Sorry those dates dont work for you , We use to go this week all the time and switched to the week prior 2 years ago before that we always arrived on 8/25 :) (Although Bounceback dates were 8/17-8/29 so it will be interesting to see what happens date wise when it is finally released if it is .) Either date works for us .:goodvibes

Do you mean visa holders? Or do you mean the room discounts for AP holders will come out march 1st.

It might have been Visa holders now that I think about. I was just excited about him giving some info about free dining and didn't pay much attention to the 3/1 stuff since we are neither. LOL

You sure it wasn't Visa card holders and GP? Since you have to pay rack rate and buy two day park tickets, AP holders don't usually book free dining. I know we haven't, since they changed the ticket requirement from one day to two day tickets.:confused3

Here's hoping for an AP discount to come out that would cover both my Sept and Oct/Nov trips. (Although the AP discount for my May trip was the exact same as the bounceback deals I currently have booked for my May, Sept, and Oct/Nov trips.) Free dining wouldn't help me at all. I want a good AP room discount, that will beat the bounceback deals.

It seems like a lot of teachers (northern) take advantage of FD. These dates are very late for them. That is our delemma. WDW could lose a section of these families?

It also could lose families that won't pull their kids from school or travel that close to the start of school

If the idea behind late summer FD is to bring northerners down when the south is back in school, these dates may not work well

Canadians already got the 17th, so not coordinating those dates seems odd

Also seems a bit odd that it would start on a Saturday which would be a busier day

Agreed. That does seem late. The 25th is the day we check out:guilty: I really hope they start it(if theyre going to) at least week earlier:worship:

The Canadian offer for FD started August 19th, not the 17th. Really hoping that FD starts the 18th instead of the 25th.

I do agree the date seems odd :) I do know the BB dates started the 17th of August because I was there and I didn't book it because we were doing a Disney Cruise in June and going in December prior to the cruise but something came up and we didnt get to go in December so now we will go in August :) Our schools here return Sept 4th so we have a we bit of time to play with. I will be shocked if it doesn't run w/i a few days of BB it usually does so there is still hope:wizard: Although in the past when it first started they did start free dining that week of the 25th of August . I hope for everyone's sake they start it w/i a few days of the BB offer then it should at least be the 19th or maybe a few days prior to the BB offerlike the 15th anything is possible guess we will have to wait and see unless somethng starts Leaking :)

With the dates this late, we'll likely still go, but instead of a 10 day trip it will likely be shorter so we can get back without butting right up against the start of school.
