Cast of Characters:
Me - 33
DH - 37
DS - 12 (the one who "gets" it
DD - 9 (aka "The Girl")

Mickey woke me up at 7:00. No one else moved. We had put the "breakfast" door hanger out the night before, so I knew room service would be there between 7:30-8:00 with the coffee. Then all would be right in the world. I got the family up and grabbed my shower. Kids munched on donuts and milk until we were ready. We went back to Beach Blanket Buffett because the kids loved it.
It was a beautiful day and Nassua looks so colorful from the ship. I couldn't wait to hit the shops. Castaway Cay is going to be for the rest of them, but today was mine. (Or so I thought)
We got off the ship around 11:00 and not even 20 feet on dry land and "The Girl" starts. "My feet hurt." She can sence shopping. I'm not a real shopper, but I do love to look at what my DH calls "junk shops". We went through the main building and suddenly there were hair braiders everywhere! I said a dozen polite "no thank yous" and tried to just ignore them. It didn't work...they will follow you until you answer. "The Girl" wanted to get her whole head braided. I explained that it was not very comfortable, would take a long time, and would cost a lot of her money. ($1 per braid) I had heard horror stories of sun burned heads, taking hours to get all the braids out, and it pulls out a lot of your hair. I tried to talk her into just a few, but she wanted all or nothing. So I said "okay, nothing".
The only shop the kids were interested in was Del Sol. I admit I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Just a little tip: Go to the second location. (15b on the map) It is not as crowded, much bigger, better selection, and has dressing/changing rooms in the back. They have t-shirts, nail polish, jewelry, and much more. What makes it so cool is they all change colors in sunlight! I have green nail polish that turns pink outside. Check out their website at www.DelSol.com. :sunny:
We didn't get to look at very many stores. The kids were complaining and DH was rolling his eyes. We went to the Straw Market and only stayed about 10 minutes. I was very frustrated. They did have some nice hand made jewelry and wood carvings and were very willing to haggle for the price. It's under a large tent and very crowded. Just a little FYI.
We decided to go ahead a grad a taxi to Atlantis. $4.00 per person plus $1 for the toll bridge. Make sure you ask the driver if he has air condition. Atlantis is such a beautiful hotel. You really can't see many of the aquariums without paying for the tour. ($25 per person) They don't have things marked very well. We only stayed about an hour because the kids were tired and just getting grumpier. The taxi back to the ship did not have A/C.
We grabbed some lunch from Pluto's then DS went exploring. He was so good about letting us know where he was going to be and always paged us when he left the club. We decided to go play Bingo at 4:45 and "The Girl" would just have to tag along. We did get her a kid pack so she could play too. We didn't win any money but I did answer 2 trivia questions a got a key chain and a set of Haunted Mantion trading cards. They were going to have a raffle after they verified the final winner, and the others didn't want to wait but I insisted. Good thing...I won! I got 2 Getaway Packages for Castaway Cay. That would save me $70. Finally, some pixie dust!
DS found us as we were leaving Wavebands. He got a little freaked out because he couldn't find us. We had told him we were going to play Bingo, but didn't say exactly where. I told him next time just find a CM and ask and they'll make sure he finds us.
Dinner tonight was at Parrot Cay. It was my favorite. Such a colorful place. The food was fantastic. DS ate quickly so he could leave. Did I mention that he loved having all that freedom! Darija taught DD how to make Minnie's bow with her napkin, then grabbed us to do the limbo with her.
After dinner we walked around for a little while and met DS back at the room at 10:30. Hidalgo was starting soon and we wanted to see it. I got to see the first 10 minutes before "The Girl" started complaining. It was time for her to go to bed! DH and DS stayed to watch the movie and I took her back to the room. I told her to sit tight and I would go get us some snacks from the buffett on Deck 9. She was passed out when I got back so I ate it myself. I don't know where I put it because we had just finished dinner. But it was great.
I decided she wasn't going anywhere, so I walked around deck 10 for a little while. It was very peaceful. It was windy but not cold. Just perfect in every way.
DH and DS said the movie was awesome. We ordered our milk and cookies, and had to have a cheese pizza too. Time for bed because tomorrow is Castaway Cay!

I loved your earlier story about you ds and the milk and cookies. He sounds alot like my ds-13. He loves being on the ship and doing whatever, whenever, where ever. I think his favorite was the ability to grab a hamburger or ice cream when ever he wanted.

Thanks for sharing!

I am really enjoying your reports. I love your kid-references-
DS 'the one who gets it' and DD 'the girl' :hyper: :hyper:
