Basic info: We were last at Disneyland the first weekend of November, and again in March of 2014. Our daughter is 3 and has been to Disneyland on 4 different trips. Before she was born, we went a few times a year. We have seen and done everything we have wanted to do, so that means we are not stressed over not doing something on our visits. We were at the parks from Saturday through Tuesday. We flew in to John Wayne Airport, arriving at 9am and were dropped off at our hotel first (Super Shuttle) and were in the park shortly after.
Saturday and Sunday (March 28th-29th) were far less busy than the next two days. Perhaps due to the transitioning of Spring Break weeks? However, I spoke to another person today who was also there on the same days, and she felt the weekend was busier than Monday and Tuesday. J
We did Magic Morning on Tuesday and were able to do Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland and Astro Orbitors all before 8am. We then did Jungle Cruise (hubby did Star Tours), Pirates and Haunted. We left the park at 9:30 and went to DCA to get fast passes for RSR (return time of 6:35-7:35) and headed to Toy Story. The line for Toy Story was 45 minutes already, and with a toddler, we said no way! Instead DH rode Screamin’ and we did Ariel’s ride. After that, we headed out of the park to PPH for a 10:50 reservation at Surf’s Up. (More on that later.)
Egg hunt- we bought our map at Disneyland on Saturday, and while DD napped, I found a few of the eggs. It was a lot of fun! We bought our DCA map the next day. We ended up getting Thumper and the White Rabbit. We enjoyed seeing all the characters in spring colors as well at the Springtime Roundup. It was fun to see Mickey and Minnie together.
It was warm all 4 days, last year at this time it was 10 degrees cooler. We wore shorts all days, only needing a light sweater at night.
Food:
Red Rocket’s Pizza Port- always our first meal at the parks for lunch. I always get the chicken pasta. I enjoy it a lot, and would order anywhere if I could!
Café Orleans- we share pomme frites and the Monte Cristo every time we go. Heavenly, as always.
Club 33- We were very lucky and had the opportunity to go to Club 33 again, (this was our 2nd visit, the first was before the renovations). We had a lunch reservation, right when they opened I believe, and we were the first in there. Soon after it started to fill up. We enjoyed a very nice, yet expensive, lunch with wine. DH had the filet mignon, I had the chicken raviolis and DD had sliders. We also had Duckhorn Merlot to drink. Our DD was very well-behaved, and enjoyed her meal as well. We spent a small fortune on souvenirs again, but we don’t know when we will do it again, so why not?!
Mimi’s café- after spending so much at Club 33 we went to Mimi’s because we had a coupon for a free entrée. We both had nice salads.
Goofy’s Kitchen- We are so glad we did two character meals. It was great to just sit down and have a relaxing dinner (read: rest our very tired feet!) and knowing our toddler was having the time of her life. She understood that she needed to wait until the characters came to her, and they came often enough to hold her interest. The dinner itself was good too. We bought vouchers through Get Away.
Surf’s Up- We did this on Tuesday after Magic Morning, a 10:50am reservation. All the characters were still there, a few came by twice, and the food was still fresh and replaced as it disappeared. Good food, great times.
Rancho Cucamonga- DCA. We always eat here too.
Corn Dog from the red truck. Always a favorite. Our daughter had a sandwich from the Jolly Holiday and we ordered a side of chips. They were homemade and REALLY good.
We enjoyed all of our meals, and we found that even with 4 days we did not get the chance to eat everywhere we wanted to this trip. J
Snacks:
Garlic twist from the cart at the Royal hall. YUMMY! This is the first time for this snack, and big enough to share.
Ghirardelli sundae. J
Giant pickle.
Cold Stone ice cream on Harbor (we had a gift card)
