March 21, 2009 Western Magic

No tickets yet. Leaving at 3 to go to Chicago for a dental convention. Of course yesterday it was nice there, but going to get cold and chance of snow. Don't know why they have to do it in February.

Bob, yes make reservations for Boma for breakfast so that you won't be disappointed. Ever since Disney started the dining plans pre planning is a must.

Three weeks from tomorrow we fly to Orlando, yippee!:dance3:

for me. :goodvibes

BOMA....o.k. will call the (407) WDW-DINE this weekend.
We fell in  with the place when we stayed there last fall.
Thought about doing dinner and breakfast. Think we will just do breakfast.

21 days and counting until we start our journey.
We will stay in Indy that thursday and fly out friday morning.
Hopefully, we will be in the pool at AKL by 2.:cool1:

Hi, Everyone! We got our doc's today. Not much to the packet this time. I guess its because we aren't using Disney for flights/transfers/insurance?

My boys and I just got over a wicked cold virus. Here's hoping we can all stay well for three more weeks!

Cruise docs arrived today! To busy to start even thinking about packing. Hopefully, we can make some progress this weekend.

No Docs yet! Maybe today! I booked through DU, so that might be the delay.?

Friend came over yesterday (she is very stylish) and decided that I didn't need to buy a new dress for formal night. She dug through the closet and found a very comfortable, appropriate outfit. Gotta love friends like that!

Wow! A lot of activity in the time I have been away. Sorry to have started the thread and run. Lots has been happening here. Kids both dance competitively and our season is in high gear now. So looking forward to the break.

I haven't reviewed all of the posts, there are so many, but we haven't received our docs here either. We always are a few days later than everyone else because of our TA but that's ok, she's so wonderful it's worth the wait.

We have NOTHING planned this trip, just to go and enjoy ourselves. We might rent an electric car in Key West again, we really enjoed that last year, but otherwise, we might get off the boat in port....or we might not.

What's everyone else planning?

Hi Disneymom92.

We actually don't have anything definite planned, either. I think we are going to do Stingray City in GC, but I haven't actually made the ressie yet. Maybe I should get around to that.

Last time we tried to take the Western a hurricane decided we would be doing an Eastern again, so we had no plans in advance, and I have to say we really enjoyed it that way.

Three weeks from right now we'll all be onboard and ready to set sail! :woohoo:

:cool1: DAYS TO GO:cool1:

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.
Here, things are good. Just a little cool, but :sunny: this morn.
Heading out to the park in a bit. :dogdance:

All the arrangements have been made.
We will meet the kids later today to discuss packing and such.
No bags out yet. Maybe next weekend.
May have to do some last minute shopping.

Disneymom92, good to see you back.
Hope you weren't hit by all the ice last month. Weather has not been too kind to your area lately.

Looking forward to this cruise and meeting everyone. Later.

Went shopping last night for a large suitcase, sunscreen, etc.

Excursions booked (direct with operators):
Stingray City with Captain Marvin's
Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel

No plans, yet for KW. Will probably keep that one simple. Maybe trolley, and/or walk, etc. Thought about electric car, but not sure if parking is difficult.

No plans for CC

Wwould like to rent jet skis at some stop, if we have time.

Woo Hoo when we got home today our docs were in the box of mail/papers/etc. that the neighbor girl got for us. pirate: :dance3: :laundy: Yes I'm really doing laundry LOL:sad1:

Hi Everyone:

Had no idea this thread was here, even though I've been on the DIS for awhile. Just goes to show you there's always more to learn! We've been booked on this cruise for what feels like forever and CANNOT WAIT, especially with the major snow storm hitting NY today and the frigid temperatures. We are me, DH, DD 13 and DD 11. This is our 2nd cruise and 1st 7-nighter. We did a 3-night just to see what it was like and we loved it so much that we booked this one immediately. Can't wait for more time and some days at sea. We're planning to rent an electric car in Key West, hit the beach in Grand Cayman and do the off-roading jeep tour in Cozumel. I think stingrays and relaxing on CC. Sound good? And we are definitely going all out on clothing: full formal wear on formal night, pirate costumes, everything. The girls are planning to go to Ocean's Quest every night after the shows for the parties, leaving DH and me for some adult time. How great is that??

Hi cindy18, glad you found us. I had meant to post you a link from the other thread that you posted back to me on, just hadn't gotten around to it. :goodvibes

You are going to love having a whole week on the Magic!

Hi Melissa:

I can hardly wait for a whole week away from the rest of the world, although I know it will go by so quickly! Both of my daughters have told me, separately, that they REALLY need this cruise! We're flying down the morning before and staying in Port Canaveral. I think they're hoping to buy as many bikinis at Ron Jons as we'll let them!

Cindy

Cindy, we've never been to that Ron Jon's, but I'm hoping we can work it in this time. We are driving down on Friday. Even though we are in FL, it takes us about 8+ hours to get to the port.

Where are you guys staying? We are staying at the Radisson. Anyone else staying there?

We're staying at the Country Inn and Suites. We almost stayed at the Radisson, but the Country Inn and Suites seemed a little smaller and quieter, and also newer. I think it's next door to Hertz, which could make dropping off our rental car even more convenient than I had expected. But I would think a lot of people will be staying at the Radisson.

And remember, Ron Jon's is open 24 hours a day!

It's funny that you mentioned Ron Jons being open 24 hrs beacuse I have always joked with my mom that some time we are going in the middle of the night just to see how it is.

It's not hard to imagine a bunch of cruisers descending on Ron Jon's in the middle of the night, or even at something like 5:00 in the morning, unable to sleep or maybe driving down to the Port overnight and looking to kill time. Besides, it saves on packing if you buy the bathing suits there!

HI,
We are at the Radisson the night before, too. We'll be driving up after school, so I'm not sure if we'll have time for Ron Jon. My daughter would love it, though. I seem to recall visiting one in Key West, too. It's getting closer and closer!
Debbie
