March 2012 Code Watch

Last week, we received a pin code...applied it for 35% at the Yacht Club! This makes the difference between staying at a Disney property or moving to the Swan for this trip. Just as I had accepted that we'd be trying the Swan...the code appeared in email and well, I just had to use it!

well yet again the Disney gods have put one over on me. We have gotten two pin codes in the past two days for the 35% off rooms at the Deluxes and both times they have been addressed to our family. However when we call and try to have them applied the names do not match our address and phone number they have on filed and they have refused to honor it.

makes me so so so so mad.

Oh Jennifer, that really stinks!

Nothing here yet. One of the emails I use had 2 Disney emails today and I got excited...but no pin.

IF EVERYONE DOESN'T ALREADY KNOW>>>>> Disney has just released Room Only discounts for Spring 2012 to the general Public.

Do your math vs free dining (in some cases).

just decided to make a quick trip first week of March.....
(we have our big family trip planned in June)
so looking for value....
what do you guys say is the best deal for a solo trip.....

AP rate.... which I found 35% off for values
Free dining..... never felt it was that great for a solo trip
room only..... I've only seen 20% off for March? is that right?

thanks.

Well this new code saved me a crap ton of money:

7 nights at the Beach club with park hopper for 6 days: I saved $971.00.

Much better deal for me than the free dining. As two adults we find that the dining plan is just not worth it for us. Too much food!

So excited!

So excited - just saved $1235 off our YC CL reservation. :cool1:

We had free dining before this, but we would rather pay for our dining out of pocket, so I think we will save more with the room only discount! Yeah!

Same for us with CR. I called last night. Free dining still works out better. Thanks a lot for the update on this board so that I knew to call immediately :goodvibes

CR only priced out at 5% compared to slightly less than 19% with the FD for DH & I but I just could not pass up the savings at the Epcot Resort 30% for my dates and the savings of $1100. I was hopeing Disney would release a RO discount so I could save more $ but I never dreamed that CR would be excluded.

There is no free dining for us for march 16-24, which would have been great for my family of six. We got 15% off rooms, so I saved $400 on two rooms. Not too shabby but still would have prefered free dining.

It is too bad you could not go earlier or later in March as the FD would be a huge benefit since you have a larger family.

We are going March 17th to 24th and have 3 rooms at POR - the new Royal Rooms. Discounts don't apply for those rooms my TA tells me.

:(

I am so excited...I got my 2nd PIN ever and I can actually use this one...20% off POP Mar 11-19th...Sweet!:cloud9:

All the saving of trips on the Disney web-site finally payed off.:thumbsup2

Tis true. My kids are in a new school district, and we did not want to take time off school, so our options were Christmas break (but I hear it's more crowded than March), Summer (the heat alone would make crowds unbearable) or Spring Break (crowded but better weather). So we went with the lesser of the evils. I don't feel too bad paying for the dining plan because since 2005, my family has had the blessing of taking advantage of free dining for every single trip. We got so spoiled to the dining plan, that we can't imagine a disney trip without it. Since we have never had to pay for it before, I'm not complaining too much. Besides, it's a 40th birthday present to myself, which I will get to celebrate at WDW :goodvibes

Going from March 15-March 19 and have APs, so just looking for a room-only discount, preferably at a moderate. What's the best deal right now? Is there a special AP rate?

Just wanted everyone to know I just got an email for a game on pin. As far as I know, it is for free park hopper and water park option when you reserve a ticket/resort package. The dates were most nights 3/9-3/31. I don't think we'll use it b/c we don't need these options and already got a pin for 25% off values for our dates (mid March).

Do your math vs free dining (in some cases).

with the spring room discount = 4668.76
with the dining plan discount = 4405.84

Dining plan deal was still $262.92 cheaper for me, and yes, the deluxe plan is a must. So I'll be sticking with my current reservations!
