March 2012 Code Watch

We are hoping to take a trip during spring break this year from March 11-16. I would love any kind of discount. We took advantge of the 4/3 deal a few years ago. Does anyone remember if there was a discount offered last year during this time frame? TIA!

We got the 40% off deal at a deluxe last year the second week in March. I am really hoping for this again. for now we have the free dining but we would much rather have the discount. The free dining is way too much food for us and is kind of a waste.

But we heard about the discount in November I believe.

Count me in on the March Watch...........we are currently booked March 4-9 with FD but a RO discount would save us so much more since there are only 2 of us and we are staying Deluxe.

Just priced out dates in February but thing is we are not wanting to change our resort or room type and there is little availability, although we could upgrade to CL for a little less than our current cost and that is counting on flight change fees of $200.

We decided to stay with our March dates and hope something is released that covers our dates with availability at our resort of choice.

We are booking 3/24-3/21 with Free Dining. I would much rather have a room discount and get the QS plan..but I will take any discount. If something else comes out, I will run and the numbers and possibly switch our package...

We have been in Dec, Feb, May, June, Aug and Oct. I have NO idea what to expect in terms of weather and crowds for the end of March - for those who have experience, can you share your thoughts on what we might expect? TIA! :flower3:

We went March 24-31 in 2009 and it was by far the best week weatherwise that I have ever been in WDW and we have gone Jan, Apr, May Aug before.

Warm days , cool evenings, no rain except for one night between midnight and 6-7am. Perfect sunny days!

Now the crowds was something else :scared1:

:cool1::cool1: Just saw the AP Discounts were out through early March. Since that's when our next trip is planned, I booked it! We are going to try out Caribbean Beach Resort in a King Room for 4 nights. Total cost is $614.30 for those 4 nights.

I am really tempted to book one of the Deluxe Resorts and book Concierge/Club Level since we've never done that and I think it would be cool to have some free snacks. Just not sure we'd utilize them enough. Still a consideration though!

Anyone want to guess if there will be a RO discount past 2/20/12 and when it will be????
We are going 3/11/12 and so far only have CAA discount....I really hope we can get a better discount...we'll spend the money there anyway :thumbsup2
Keep your fingers crossed for March RO discount, everyone!!!:surfweb:

I'd be happy with a room only discount for the 3 nights were are staying before our free dining promo starts (Feb 29-Mar2)...probably won't save us much $$ as we're staying @ POP, but at least it would probably be enough to pay for a nice TS meal

I'd also be happy with a room discount since we are only staying 3 nights (March 20-23). The dining promo isn't for those dates anyway :(. Has anyone heard of a better deal?

Hi All,

I just started trying to plan an early March trip, and was shocked at the rates quoted by Disney.

Looking at the free dining promo, 2 adults, 2 kids, 3/3 - 3/6, with 3-day hoppers.

$2808 for Poly
$3388 for GF theme view
$3062 for WL villas
$3433 for AK villa animal view

YIKES! That's for THREE NIGHTS! We have gone several times, and have never paid so much. I know our last trip we stayed at CR and had 40% off the room rate. Prior to that we've gotten the free dining.

I'm going to call today about moderates.

Any other suggestions??

I requested a DVD and hoping maybe they'll send me a room discount code.

The reason we're only doing 3 nights at Disney is b/c this time we want to venture out to Legoland, Sea World & Discovery Cove -- so would likely switch to a hotel closer to those places.

Again -- any guidance or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

THANKS!!!

We are getting 6 nights at a moderate for less than you have for three at the deluxe. Good luck.

We've always done moderates. My kids are 8, 4 & 2 and they LOVE Caribbean beach resort. We've also stayed at Coronado and like that a lot. Coronado is quieter with more of an older crowd. We tried Port Orleans Riverside once and it was ok, we didn't care much for the theme but the pasta bar in the food court is awesome. I'd definitely suggest a moderate. Another idea is to ditch the hopper option and just add extra days to your passes, sometimes it works out to be cheaper that way.

Wow.... I'm booked 3/3 through 3/10 with 8 day park hoppers and FD at CBR for right at $3K

we are booked for March 25- April 1 at the Polynesian. I looked on the Disney website today and the price for the exact vacation is $300 cheaper than when we booked. If my travel agent gets the price changed over to the new one will I lose all my dining reservations?

i don't think so. There is a separate number to call to cancel dining.
Did you get the free dining package? Just let them know that you are not cancelling your ADRs just in case.

I was just over on the special offers site and noticed they extended the book by date on the 2012 FD until Dec 17 2011. FD for 2011 still has to be booked by Oct 29th 2011

I guess maybe this means we will have to wait a bit longer before we might see a RO offer for March? :sad2:

When I checked a few days ago the RO offer for passholders was available for stays between January 2 and March 8. Book by date was December 3. Still no RO rate for FL residents yet though. I wonder if after Dec 3 they will release the rest of the RO discounts? That will be 3 mos out. Sounds about right to me.

I'm currently booked for FD March 3-9. Would love RO discount. We've never done March before. Have they done RO in March in the past? Thanks!
