March 17, 2007 7 Day Eastern

Just bumping, wondering if anyone else out there is going to have a Magical Spring Break.

Airline fares came out the other day. I was looking online for our hotel and didn't know that you couldn't book online for March yet. I thought that it went by 365 days but found out that the 2007 packages don't come out until January, I guess I'll do a room only now and transfer it to a package later.

Yes, we're flying down the morning of the 14th, doing WDW, then doing the cruise. We're also staying an extra day after the cruise because the price difference between flying home on Saturday and Sunday was HUGE! I think we're staying at Beach Club before the cruise and Coronado Springs after. I wanted to stay at Coroando Springs the whole time but DCL doesn't pick up there and I didn't want to move all of our "stuff" to a different resort to be picked up. DCL will drop us off at CSR afterwards though.

Where is everyone at? I think I'll post on the regular cruise forum and see if anyone is out there. With less than a year to go you would think that more people would be booked. Maybe it won't fill up and DCL will reduce the rates and we'll be able to cruise for a lot cheaper even though it's Spring Break! :cloud9: OK, the chances of that happening are pretty slim.

Yes, I was thinking maybe double or triple upgrades would be in store for all of us!

Evidently others are booked on this cruise, just not DISers. I checked the prices tonight and for us (two Cat 6s) the price has increased by $375. I just booked on April 12.

:cool1: :cool1:

Just managed to book our flights at standard perksaver rates with frequent flier miles! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I've been checking the nwa website daily, and was beginning to think that because of spring break, etc. that there wouldn't be any available.

Now only 10 more months to go! :rotfl2:

Yes, this thread has been really quiet, and I was almost hoping the boat would be empty (just our 3 - 4 families which are subscribed)

Somehow I reckon we're living in a dream world. :disrocks:

We haven't booked airfare yet but I've started checking rates at the port hotels. Has anyone stayed anywhere other than the Radisson or Ron Jon's? I have Holiday Inn Priority Club points to use and I think that there are a couple of those close to port.

Jen--
There's been alot of talk about the Residence Inn at the port. It is brand new (opened less than two months ago). It serves a full hot breakfast. It doesn't have a shuttle though. Rates I've seen run around $100. If you do a search you'll get lots of threads. There is also a Country Inn and Suites opening this month. It doesn't have a shuttle either but I understand that both are very close to the port, and car rental agencies.

We found that flying home on Sunday rather than Saturday was going to save about $600 for the 5 of us (that's with Delta). I don't think Allegiant has come out with their rates yet.

I am going to look in to Allegiant too. I don't believe they fly on Saturdays so we would stay the extra night and come home Sunday. The non-stop flight they offer is too good to pass up!

The non-stop flight does sound wonderful. My mom flew in/out of Sanford in April and said it was a really nice, small, uncongested airport. She said she saw DCL busses there but I'm not sure what transportion Disney has available from Sanford. We did Delta only becasue we had our tickets already bought for the Dec cruise we had to postpone. We had bought them for $243 per person. It's costing WAY more to fly down in March.

I think we'll probably just rent a car and stay somewhere on the coast Friday night. I think Allegiant has only one flight a day so it will just depend on what time that one flight arrives.

I had my first ultrasound today and it looks like we'll be going on this cruise with a 4-month-old little boy. My DS14 is excited, my DD11, had her heart set on a little girl. Just wanted to share the exciting news!

Here's a pic, gotta love technology!

SO COOL!! So, will the baby be a newborn when you go in December? It's December, right?

Congrats!

Jen--
Last year we did and land/sea in December and were booked to go on the 12/09/06 cruise when we found out I was pregnant. We couldn't go on that one because babies have to be twelve weeks old. We postponed to this cruise. The baby will be 4 months or so on this cruise. Hopefully it is a good baby and sleeps a lot and likes the beaches! We are cruising in December of 2007 also, on the 12/15/07 cruise. Sorry, I probably confused you.

Hello all, Can you find room for 3 more Midwesterners on Spring Break? :thumbsup2

I will be treating my DNephew (will be 9 1/2) and my DNiece (will have just turned 8 on March 3) to a Spring Break cruise. :wizard:

We actually booked at the end of April and have been happily anticipating ever since. Once the DVD arrived - they went into overdrive. Although I must say it was nice to see them actually sit down together and pour over the booklet and DVD without fighting. Maybe this trip will make "togetherness" a good thing for them.

I am looking forward to getting to know you all and enjoy planning our trips together.

The more the merrier!! I haven't told my kids that we are going yet. I'm going to hold off as long as possible and I'd like to plan a surprise to tell them, maybe at Christmas.
