That what I was just thinking... I still have yet to go on my first Disney cruise in November (in fact I am still making gifts as I type) and thought I would come check out this meet-up/FE group since my mom showing interest in participating... Apparently I am way beyond fashionably kate

I haven't seen a reply from Shonna here or on the Facebook page yet. I would be happy to repost your queries on the Facebook page and I have posted there asking if I can just sign you up myself or send you the link to the sign up document. As I am not in charge of it I felt I needed to ask first. But as far as I can tell there is indeed still room.

A decision was made early on to limit the size of this first FE group to, I think, 30 families. The idea being that a second FE group could always be formed if closer to the cruise the numbers suddenly swelled.

Thats good to hear, I just can't seem to get into Facebook so I am glad to hear that is not the only place activity will take place

That would be wonderful!! I don't want to miss out. My mom is very excited about her first Disney cruise and I thought participating in another FE group would really add some pixie dust

Sorry I've been MIA for awhile, life got really crazy for a bit and I've been off the boards. But I'm back and catching up now!

I am updating the spreadsheet list of FE participants and have you down. I should have it all updated and posted in an hour or so, but you are for sure on there!

Hi Stephanie!

Welcome to the group! Sorry it's taken me a bit to get back to you, my life got a little crazy there for a bit and I was off the boards. But I am back on and have your information down to get you added to the FE list of families participating!

The fish extender group is basically a gift exchange. The Fish Extender itself is a pocket panel you hang from the fish shaped hook outside your stateroom. These can be homemade or you can purchase them on sites like Etsy, you can also find some pictures on Google or DIS forums. Families that join the FE group hang the Fish Extender outside their cabin and then, once the cruise gets underway, participants deliver little gifts to the others participating in the group by leaving them as a surprise in the fish extender pockets. One fun aspect of taking part in a fish extender group is checking in throughout the day to see what little goodies are waiting!

It's a ton of fun, not just for kids, and you can either give one gift to each cabin, or a gift to each person in the cabin. You can give gifts a few times throughout the cruise or just once. There are no rules regarding gifts (no minimum or maximum dollar value). Often times, the gifts are handmade, but not always. No real set rules, just exchange and have fun! Gifts can be homemade or storebought, Disney, non-Disney, totally up to you! That's part of the fun . . . the variety of neat things that everyone brings!

I am getting the list of participants updated and should have it ready to go in an hour or so. It is the Google Docs link at the beginning of this thread. You can go in and update your information anytime and add any notes about favorite characters, etc.

You can also get to know others participating in the FE by joining our Facebook group. You can find it under March 16th, 2013- 7-Night on Disney Fantasy.

Thank you Shonna! We actually got a fish extender last year just b/c I thought they were so cute! I am awaiting our room number and will add it as soon as I get it. I will also be joining the facebook group soon. Hopefully today!
