We are on the May 10th Eastern itinerary on the Treasure. I saw the navigator for this cruise on disneycruiselineblog.com and noticed that Beauty & the Beast and Moana were playing on two nights (night 2/3 for BB and night 6/7 for Moana). I have heard that people are lining up 90 minutes early for Moana. Not sure if this change was for spring break only or is it more permanent given the uptick in demand and likely the higher occupancy for each sailing. Looking for someone that was on this cruise to comment. Thank you.

We went down approx 1/2 an hour before the doors opened and we were pretty far back in the line (IIRC, we were back by the jewelry shops). Of note, though, we still got good seats as it seems like the WDT on Treasure is much bigger than on Dream class.

We were on the Treasure in February and we just got off again Saturday and the lines waiting for it are long.
It was on our Castaway Cay day both times and there was a matinee both times and they were also packed both trips
both times. So they really had 3 shows on 1 day and they were all packed. People get off Castaway to see it and then go back
at their regular time in the evening before or after dining.
People are lining up an hour before the show!
It is Disney's newest show and the word has gotten out it is the best of all shows for all ships.
I believe it is going to be permanent like this for quite a while.

Did they show Moana on two different nights again on your cruise? Or just the matinee in addition to the evening shows?

It was only 1 day, Castaway Cay day.
The matinee was in addition to the evening shows.

And between our February cruise and our cruise last week they changed the casts for both Moana and Beauty.
Unfortunately for us we had a let down of the the performers in Moana. The original cast was made up of a lot of real Polynesian people. The new cast has very few which took some of the authenticity away of being Polynesian theme for us. And the person
playing Maui is not muscular at all. He just doesn't look right for the part. Do not get me wrong, he was good, but he just doesn't
fit the part.
We were so glad we saw the original cast!!

We also thought the original cast for Beauty was much better too on our February cruise.

However, for seeing the shows for the first time and not having seen the original performers, you will still love the shows!!!!
Moana is still fantastic!

We were on Treasure last week. B&B was night 6, Moana was night 7. Both also offered 2pm matinee shows. We didn't try going to any of them. Yes, people were lining up more than 60 minutes in advance. We chose to enjoy an empty pool deck. I would like to have seen them, but it wasn't something I felt like I had to do, especially when it was that crowded.

I'm curious- anyone know what the seating capacity is for the Walt Disney Theater versus the ship capacity?

I was on this sailing as well. We heard from several cast members that this sailing was the first one the new cast was on their own, which I agree seemed to show. The performers seemed a little timid, particularly at Beauty and the Beast (where two of the three performances included multiple show stop pauses).

I disliked having the matinees on the same days as the evening performances. I’ve been on other Disney sailings where they do a matinee of the show the day prior to the day it’s the evening offering. They can set up the show in the theater the first day while still being able to use the theater that night for a variety act that performs in front of the curtain. Having the two most popular shows offered on the last two days of a seven night sailing adds to the pent up demand and feeling of pandemonium around these shows since nobody had seen a show since much earlier in the cruise and only the much shorter Seas the Adventure.

Sage and Coriander were notably absent from most of this sailing as Coriander was apparently injured. I was disappointed that Choose Wisely was not programmed in the app as it was one of the unique Treasure offerings I was looking forward to. It seems they did multiple emergency rehearsals (easy to notice as they can’t completely close off Sarabi) and added it to the schedule mid cruise. The emergency understudy Coriander was excellent! Very grateful they were able to make it happen.

And putting the biggest show on the last day makes it harder to pack, too. Instead of spending an hour packing, everyone's standing in line for an hour.

I recently did back-to-back Wish cruises and we saw the shows on the first cruise, but skipped them on the second. Having that extra time to pack was fantastic!

I am sorry to tell you but they did have it.
Yes Choose Wisely was not programmed in the app the first few days.
But it did show up finally and I can't remember for sure which night it was on.
It might have been Wednesday night.
And Sarabi was standing room only for it!!!!

No need to tell me. I was there. I don’t think you finished reading my post.

I am sorry!!!!
I guess I didn't read your post right!
No worries. I was so glad they added it and I thought for what was apparently their first performance, they did a great job! A show with such a wordy and complicated script they only tripped over a couple words. I imagine this happens often even after more performances given the hectic and interactive nature of the show. I was glad I arrived early (like was necessary for every venue on this cruise) and enjoyed a first row spot in the balcony.

Thank you for your understanding.
We just saw Choose Wisely on our February Western Caribbean cruise on the Treasure and were looking forward to seeing it
again and like you we were disappointed when it wasn't listed on the app at the beginning of the cruise. We were so happy
when it did appear.
As for it being their first performance, you could be right. We don't remember who the performers were in February.
Given that Moana and Beauty had new casts from our February cruise, they were probably new also.
Even Hana, the adult entertainment director, was new. We had Morgan in February.
Unfortunately we arrived a little late and were standing along the wall by the bar but a couple got up from their stools right in front of us and left and we were able to grab their seats before anyone else.

i was 2nd voyage.. i was in line hour early and yeah by 30 min it was quite far down the hall.
some folks were going to matinee and evening to see it twice.

Ship's capacity - 4,000
WDT - 1,274

Thanks! So even when they offer the matinee in addition to the regular 2 shows that's still not quite enough for everyone on the ship to attend! (Though its pretty close and I'm sure not every single person on board attends)

I think they should scan KTTW cards to limit it one showing per guest if not all guests have the opportunity to see the show. We sail in less than a month and seeing Moana is already stressing me out.

I completely agree, I think it is so rude if someone is going to see it 2x and making it harder for people who want to just see it once. It also makes that last night not as relaxing as it should be, with the stress of trying to see Moana. We just opted out. I don't feel like I missed out on anything at all, but we also haven't historically been to many of the shows on our other cruises either.
