March 15, 2015 MAGIC Cruise!! :)

Thanks papertraveller. We are so excited! I noticed that you have stayed at the Beach Club Villas. We were planning to stay at AKL before the cruise but are now thinking about BCV. We aren't going to the parks for those days and we are big pool people. Stormalong Bay looks fabulous. Any advice?

Welcome Splashmom!

We were also thinking to try Beach Club for 2 nights before the cruise since we are not going into the parks, have not had a chance to explore the boardwalk area, and wanted to try Stormalong Bay.
We'll see if we can switch our reservation in August.

Also, the school calendar came out and the dates are good, so we will be doing this cruise!

Yeah 5 dreamers, so glad you are official now! Im jealous of all of you trying out Beach Club! Looks so cool! AS a family of 6, we are simply priced out of doing any of those places since we need two rooms. Our last WDW trip we actually stayed in a house offsite and it was truly wonderful! But I think next time we get back we may end up doing two rooms at a value resort since it will be a peak season time.

After today my kids have 7 more days of school and they cant wait to be done! Seems hard to believe its almost summer break.. but still seems so far until this trip!

We just booked this cruise last night and I'm so excited! We have done two shorter cruises (3 night/4 night) both on the Dream so I'm looking forward to trying the Magic. We are flying in on the Wednesday before and are staying at AKL...flying home the day after we disembark. The discussion regarding port adventures is great. We have lots to decide. It will be me, DH and DS (27) so we are all adults (no FE). Can't wait to do more planning!:)
Welcome Aboard! Get it? We are staying at BCV for 7 nights end of July - location and great pool / lazy river for non park days. Some pics to help us with the wait .…

Formal night on Fantasy

Snorkeling at Grand Cayman

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend

One of my brothers may come with us making us a party of 6, so I have reserved a 2-bedroom at WDW that sleeps up to 8. We have to wait till August to see if we can transfer it to the Beach Club Villas, my fingers are crossed! We have a few DVC points, and since we come down less than once/year, we have to use up the points we have banked from the previous year, so it lets us get the bigger room.

My kids are in school till the end of June, so we have one more month to go.
Madzac: When do your kids go back to school? and are they also on a March Break when we cruise? Does each US state have their own school schedule?

Thats awesome, fingers are crossed for you! I would love to do DVC but my DH just doesnt love WDW like I do unfortunately. He tolerates is. But he did love the cruise!

Our kids go back to school mid august. Each school district has their own schedule provided the equal the correct number of days of instruction. It can be confusing as the metro area we live in has four school districts and each one has a different start/end date and break dates. My older three kids will be on spring break for the week of the cruise. They will miss one day, the Monday we return. My 3 yr old will miss preschool the week we go because her preschool has break the week after.

The school finalized the 2015 Spring Break schedule and we'll definitely be joining ya'll! We can't wait. :dance3:

Whoever is organizing the fish extender groups, please add us to the list of participants. I've already posted a request to keep the groups small, it makes for a more enjoyable experience. ;)

The kids are already talking about the Aquadunk and watching YouTube videos of it. Looks I'm (DH) locked in for at least one "dunk."

I'm ready to see this view again.

Gotta love that view!

I have added your family to the list on page 1 of this thread.

The plan is to have groups of 12 staterooms-- once the first is completed, then we'll move on to start another group.

This is being done for the DVC Member cruise this August, and it's working really well. I think at this point there are five family groups, a teen group, three or four adult-only groups, plus a candy exchange!

Thank you very much! Twelve staterooms sounds just about right. :goodvibes

I am wondering if any of you can remember, or have pictures, of the shower on the Magic. By brother in law will be traveling with us on our upcoming cruise and he needs to have a grab bar in the shower. We have looked at dozens of pictures and have not found a good shot of the shower to see if there is a grab bar at the front and the side or if it is just at the side or if there are any at all. From your experience are there any?

There is a bar along the shower wall as you are facing the shower. Check out YouTube and search for disney magic cruise ship state room to get some views to see if that works.

Hi everyone!

My DD and I will be joining you on this cruise. :cool1: It's my DD's birthday trip, she will be turning 15 on March 17th. This will be cruise #14!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone! :)

Welcome alexandmaddie! I have a DD who is celebrating her birthday on the cruise as well. She will be 13 on March 13th :cool1:

9 more months everyone and we will be onboard!!!

Welcome alexandmaddie!
Welcome to my DH! (5Dreamers DH)

We will be joining the FE list, I PM'd the info to papertraveller.

My brother (DB) will definitely be joining us on the cruise, so we will now be a party of 6 in 2 connecting inside cabins.
He has a physical disability, so I've got to do some research to make sure everything will work out smoothly for him. We don't need an accessible room since he can walk, although great distances and lots of stairs would be harder for him, so I need to check if I can rent a wheelchair on board or if we should bring one - just in case he needs it. He doesn't have one of his own, but I will check around with friends/family, if that's best.

DB says the airport will lend him one as long as we inform them at the time of booking. We are waiting for air to be released from Buffalo since prices out of Toronto are way too high.

Hope everyone on the DIS is doing well.

Edited: The posts from 'Disney Crew of 5' are not here anymore, so my post no longer applies.

Thanks for the invitation. Since the FE originates on the DIS, I think we can keep our cruise list here. I can't handle two locations! :rotfl2:

Hello and Happy Cruising!

Can I be added to a FE group? I am new new new and not DisB savvy but am so excited to be a fish friend if I can get in?

It looks like groups of 12? (Shopping!!!!)

Please let me know what I need to do to be in! And thank you in advance for helping me out. (er get my sea legs...)
