March '11 TR: My 21 + 5 Years Birthday At WDW!! (HOME SWEET HOME) 6/24

Your braids are so cute! I didn't know they did that at GF! :cool1:

Hope you get an interview for a job at WDW! I wish I could just apply there and move down there, but my DH has no interest in living in Florida. I'd probably hate it down there in the summer, anyway! :confused3 I can't even handle CT summers, I'd probably die of heat stroke in the summer in FL!

Love all the new clothes! I have to check out Old Navy soon, I feel like they get rid of their summer stuff really fast and move in the fall clothes before I even realize what's going on!

ADR's look great! I still can't believe you're not going to any parks on your next trip, though!

sorry yesterday was rough as a first day back, but hope it gets easier and easier!

love all the new updates. especially seeing all the cool options at VB!

wishing you luck on the job too- sounds like a good plan, i mean now is the time to do that sort of thing and go enjoy! I am sure your mom will miss you, but it just means she has to come visit more often, right? ;)

so glad about your dog too!:thumbsup2

Thanks :) I got a call today from an "unknown number" but no VM so I kinda got all excited it might be fore an interview but no VM and I put on the application to call in the evening but I don't think 4:10pm is evening?? I guess I should have put after 6pm..oh well! I figured if I can work outside at AK in the summer heat for 4 months, I can survive anything!

Thanks! I just pop the tylenol and go about the day haha.

CHEF MICKEYS!!!!

HAPPY WEDNESDAY EVERYONE!!!! The week is 1/2 over and I can't wait till the weekend! I'm going to try and get this out before dinner..I smell Shake and Bake in the oven!!!

March 19, 2011

When I last left off, I had just gotten the Island Braids at GF and mom and I were headed towards CR for breakfast at Chef Mickeys. One of my former CP roomies, "K" lives/teaches in FL so I asked her to join us for breakfast since she's off on Sat/Sun and she did!

Here are a few pics from our CP days in Spring 2008 (It seems like it was years ago!)

(K is on the far left, I'm on the far right)

One of K's fav pics!

100_1532.jpg

It was taken after our CP graduation in May 2008. I can't believe it will be 3 years since our CP graduation and 4 years since my college graduation! :scared1:

Anyways...

Mom and I got to CR super early so we did a ton of shopping. It seems that we can always find something in the gift shop even though they are often times like all the other gift shops. We spent an unknown amount of money and got ready for CM. By the time we shopped and paid, K was on her way in!

We checked in a few mins before our 10:35am ADR

301.jpg

Every other time I've gone to CM's, we've always gotten our pic taken and the buzzer went right off but this time they seemed to be on a wait and so I opened some gifts that K brought for Xmas (late lol) and my Bday

302.jpg

K took a pic from our girls trip in Oct and framed it! I love it so much!!! The other gifts were cute too!!

After unwrapping, our buzzer went off!

We were seated and greeted by Marci who was our server. She took our drink orders and off to the food we went!

303.jpg

**I'm not going to post all the character pics..just a few.

It wasn't long till our first friend came!

304.jpg

And Minnie

307.jpg

Goofy

311.jpg

313.jpg

We had already seen a good deal of characters before the birthday song. Marci asked what kind of cupcake I would like. I couldn't decide so she brought both!

314.jpg

315.jpg

317.jpg

After the birthday song Mickey came!

318.jpg

My moms pic "SMILE NICE MICKEY THIS PIC IS FOR FACEBOOK" yes that is what she said!

322.jpg

And finally Pluto!

325.jpg

326.jpg

All in all...

Once again it was a great meal. I always feel like Ohana is healthier which it isn't but we had food overload at CM which I never really feel that at Ohana. It was good, mom loved it, as did K and I and we'd go back. It was $105 for the 3 of us and we tipped $20. K drove up the night before and got a CM discount room + DDP so she used hers and mom and I used ours!

After CM we headed back to MK to catch a bus to the resort. K went with us to check out the room/resort before heading to DHS to meet friends.

When we got to the room:

We showed K around a bit and then said our goodbyes as mom and I left for the pool! Once again we didn't have a problem finding a place to sit!

We were content by the pool with 88 degree weather and our refillable mugs! Little did we know the busy day had only just begun!!!

Hi Megan,

Hope the rest of the week flies by for you and me both! I'm SO excited for you and your move to Florida. It does seem like everything is falling into place. Between Orange and Osceola counties, I'm sure you will be able to find something!

Love shopping for trips...you got some great things. I'll have to check out those terrycloth shorts. I live in things like that when I'm just home hanging out. Funny, I have that black dress in navy blue! It's a little low cut on me so I wear a cami underneath. It's sooo comfy.

Awesome birthday update...I totally miss my CP days and they were almost 10 years ago. Which is also when I graduated college. I'm getting so old! I'm glad you are still in touch with some of your CP friends too and can see them fairly often. My good CP friend lives in Nebraska and I really miss hanging out with her. Our last trips together were Disney in the Fall of 2009 and then a cruise in Summer 2010.

CM is yummy! glad you had a good breakfast and a meet up with your old roomie. 3 years is a long time..............but try 15 years! I can't believe it has been 15 years since my program. I love seeing my roomies again- only one still works there (yep, ever since the CP she has stayed!! lol). But i see her everytime i go. ;)

WE are doing the Ohana breakfast for the first time in October, so i can't wait to try it. I like chef Mickey's okay, but i think i will like ohana better! here's to hoping!

Looks like great meal at Cm and that was nice you got to see an old friend

That towel animal is so cute :cutie:

Thanks! I'm hoping :) Assuming that my friend still needs a roommate it will be gold..if not, it will be a bust because there's no way I can move back down there without a roommate and without a for sure teaching job. I sent her a message on FB on Monday and haven't heard anything yet so I'm a little nervous even though she first contacted me about moving back so I'm hoping she doesn't change her mind because I'm ready to put in my notice like soon haha.

I love terry cloth shorts and tshirts or tank tops! They are perfect park shorts for me!

Glad Bailey is okay! Hope you are feeling better! LOVE the terry shorts; I didn't see them online. I will have to visit the store. Chef Mickey's is so much fun - great pictures.

I hope you get to head down to FL. It really is great timing for a move like that!

Great update! LOVE the CP pics! It looks like so much fun!

I am going to Chef Mickey's for dinner in July, but it will be on our first night, so I'll definitely be ready for Disney food overload.

I love just hanging out at the resort pool. It's so relaxing after a busy morning, and it gives you a nice energy boost for your evening plans...

...Which it sounds like you had a lot of! Can't wait to hear about them! :yay:

Chef Mickey's is so much fun! I prefer CP now, just because the food is better, but the characters at CM's are awesome! :thumbsup2 I love the pool at POFQ, it's so cute!

Great CM update! We really had a good time there and it actually worked out well for us because that was one of the days it poured all day. Just wait until I post pictures of what the Contemporary looked like compared to yours...it was really creepy because it was so dark outside! :scared1:

Love the picture your friend gave you. That's so cute.

LA NOUBA AND OHANA!!!!!!

HAPPY SATURDAY!!!!

MARCH 19, 2011

When I left off, mom and I were at the pool enjoying the 88 degrees!

We were going to the 6:30pm La Nouba show and had to be there by 5:30 to pick up the tickets. We left at 4:30 so it cut our pool time but that's okay!

We decided to take the boat over!

335.jpg

336.jpg

337.jpg

The boat came pretty quickly after we got there. They weren't filling them full but mom and I were the last to get on since the party in front of us was larger..score!!!

We rode past the Tree House Villas which I got to tour for a CM preview when I was a CM. My impressions..did not like them. It was so dark in there even during the day and had one tiny pool and was pretty far from SSR but I guess if you had a ton of people and needed one location it would be good.

341.jpg

We rode past SSR and golf course

342.jpg

Finally to DTD!!

344.jpg

347.jpg

I've always wanted to do the Characters in Flight. I had a chance before I moved back North and never did it and never did it on the 5 trips I've taken since then haha. Maybe one day!

349.jpg

We arrived at La Nouba just before 5:30pm and got our tickets from Will Call

351.jpg

And then we waited...Bro showed up and met us, changed shirts, and we were ready for them to let us in!!

When they did let us in, the first thing we ran to was the food!!! We got the 2 Popcorn buckets and 2 drinks for $21. My popcorn was gone before the show started..I was hungry and dinner was a few hours away!

363.jpg

No pics of the stage or show. They are super strict about their photo policies so I didn't even try. As far as the seats go..They were great!! Of course not as great as the ones lower but I'd pay for our seats again and we were right on the aisle which was nice! The show was as great as the first and 2nd times I saw it! La Nouba is my favorite by far and you can't beat that small theater!!

After the show, we found Bro's car, drove back to POFQ so he could shower, and then it was off to Poly for Ohana!!!

353.jpg

We got there with plenty of time for our 8:35 ADR (with a car of course).

We checked in and were seated pretty quickly.

The only problem was that we were seated at
a table for 6 in the back of the restaurant...NO NO NO.
I was NOT sitting in that location again especially with just 3 people AND It's my birthday so yes, I'll play that card too and asked to be seated in another location and we would wait for it if need-be. The CM came back and seated us along the side windows opposite side of where they cook the food. Not ideal but at least we were at a 4 person table and not 6!!!

Linda was our server and she was amazing!! It was the best service we've had at Ohana and since I moved to FL in 2008, between then and now, I've been to breakfast 3 times and dinner 4 times so 7 times total and this was the best service I've had..not so great and I do think they need to work on things more at a restaurant that is constantly just making the same food. If they can get it right at the Aloha show, you should be able to get it right at Ohana..sorry but that's how I feel!!!

I was praying that it wouldn't be like last year where at one point, we had ALL the food at our table at the same time. This year though it was spread out the way it should be!

352.jpg

We got 2 salads and 3 things of bread!

We also got fruity drinks but I can't begin to tell you what they all were. I know my bro got a back scratcher and I got something fruity with Malibu rum and have no clue what mom got but they were all great! We also all got Iced Tea since it was included with our meal. It was much better than the Lapu Lapu that I got last year and almost couldn't walk out of the restaurant!

**THIS IS WHERE I GOT THE TITLE FOR THE TRIP REPORT**

Of course she asked for ID from bro and I and I was curious to see how old she thought I was. I was ID'd left and right/asked how old I was while there and everyone thought I was 21 or 22 (good ya?!) and Linda said 21..of which I thought and then I responded...21 + 5 years!!!!

Thus came the title of my Birthday TR. Linda of course said she was sorry but I think it's pretty darn good that I look of age even though I'm 5 years past that!

357.jpg

Soon after salad our other goodies arrived with the noodles, pot stickers, and wings. I don't care for wings much so I had 2 and devoured the other 2!

354.jpg

I think we got seconds of that stuff too. What can I say we like it and were hungry!

358.jpg

I think some of the food is offered the night that we are at the Poly CL so I'm excited about that!

When meat came, I had chicken, steak, and shrimp. I don't care for pork so I didn't bother wasting the calories haha.

359.jpg

Wishes started going off right before dessert. We didn't have a great location to watch but it wasn't bad either. It would have been worse if we stayed at the other table!

After Wishes, dessert arrived and my birthday cupcake which I took to go since we devoured the dessert too!

360.jpg

Linda took a pic of the 3 of us!

362.jpg

As we ere waiting for the bill, mom and bro gave me gifts to unwrap for my birthday!

From mom (and dad even though he wasn't there!)

364.jpg

Old Navy gift card for $50 (which I spent last week), $30 in WDW (which I spent there), and $15 for Subway (which I haven't used yet) plus Chamilla charms for my Chamilla/Pandora bracelet. I got one that was blue and says "DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE" and a silver one that says "DAUGHTER" I loved them both of course!!!!!

For bros box of ?????? I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!!!!!

365.jpg

367.jpg

I could not believe it!! In Dec, I almost bought a D&B purse and decided against it and then this little baby is my birthday gift!! He was so nice and said that's what he could afford but I loved it!!! It was such a shock to me!

Apparently the people at DTD even wrapped it even though they normally don't do that but it was a last min decision before we went to La Nouba so they were so kind to do that for him!

Our dinner total was $124 with a $25 tip. We loved Linda and had this been our first time, I'd have no issues returning to Ohana but one good time out of 7 is not so great in my book but we'd probably still return haha.

After dinner, we got into the car and drove to Walmart. Bro needed something, I got a bandana to protect my braids, and I picked up some Disney goodies for some work people.

By 12:30am we were in bed and ready for our last full day at WDW!!!! I couldn't believe my 26th birthday was officially over but between the Island Braids, Chef Mickey's, Pool time, La Nouba, and Ohana...it's going to be pretty tough to beat!!!!!!

UP NEXT:

*DHS
*EPCOT LUNCH
*MK TILL 2AM!!!!!

Great end to a great day! Cute bag...I like the 1971 placement. I really love the Kristen bag, but I can't currently justify $300 on it. I can't say that in the future I won't own it though...I might sell some items on ebay and maybe get % off too. :lmao:

We haven't been to La Nouba yet, but I do want to go. I always feel like spending extra money is a waste with so many other things to do which we've paid for. One of these trips.

Thanks! I know what you mean but we didn't pay to get into the parks and we got a discount on our room plus I got a discount on La Nouba with my AP so the tickets were $60 instead of $90+ and for us, $60 is worth it for that show!!! Of course they get you for food and other goodies but we don't go every trip and you can't beat those popcorn buckets and drink cups haha.

What a great birthday you had

Souns like you made out great with gifts

I love that purse. SO nice of your brother :goodvibes

Okay, I'm caught up. Whew!

Love the braids. I love how they look on everyone else, but I've never done it myself.

How awesome that your brother got you the D&B wristlet!? That is so awesome.

I've seen La Nouba twice before and it is a great show. It's been a number of years for me. If you're ever in Vegas, I highly suggest seeing "O". Amazing! Beats La Nouba if you can believe that.

Great update! I think going down to FL and working for WDW is an excellent idea...you're young and it's exactly what you should be doing:cool1: So excited for you!

Great breakfast at CM's and how nice that K was able to meet you. Love the pics btw;)
