I'll be updating tomorrow! Jersey Shore reunion is on at 10pm and we just got home from Benihana so I could use my $30 birthday coupon before it expired at midnight (like that Cinderella reference?!) so I'm just catching up on the other reports, putting laundry away, and collapsing in my bed for the rest of the night!

It really is a great upgrade! I had been there in 2008 with some of my roomies that I lived with there but it was the first time my brother or mom had been there since 1994! It was great for them to relive memories!

BIRTHDAY SURPRISES!!!

HAPPY FRIDAY DIS FRIENDS!!!!!

The long awaited surprise is about to be revealed!

When I left off it was:

THURSDAY MARCH 17, 2011

We had just gotten into our room at POFQ, had checked it out, and were beginning to unpack a little bit before heading to dinner. We weren't in the room even 5 mins when there was a knock on the door. I had no clue who it was!!

It turns out it was DISNEY FLORIST!!! And the CM had in her hands a box and flowers inside of it! I asked my mom what it was and she played it off so I had no idea it was even from her till I read the card!

The inside said Happy Birthday, LOVE, Mom, Dad, and Bro (bro's name was typed of course but I'll keep it private).

All in all there were 4 hidden mickeys. There were 3 black ones in the flowers and one clear on the bow.


It honestly was a great birthday gift! I have been a good girl and have not looked up the price online but I'm pretty sure it was more $$ than the Pixie Wand I got from them in 2009 for my birthday!

I loved the box as well, I actually kept the bow and put it under the vase! It really was a surprise bc I thought there was no way I'd get flowers bc how would I get them home?! Well I'm happy to report that the flowers did make it home safely. The bottom was put in a ziplock bag with wet tissue paper from the box. I wrapped the rest of the tissue paper around them, stuck it all in a Disney bag and it went on the top of mom's checked bag. They made it home in once piece and lasted just over a week!

After my flower surprise, Bro got 2 bags out for mom and I! They were Universal bags! I got a lanyard from Harry Potter, choco strawberry balls, licorice, and a choco wand which I guess melted but I wouldn't have known either way! Mom got a coffee mug that has a surprise image of Harry Potter when you put coffee in it! 2 surprises in one night and it wasn't over yet! (Sorry, I guess I didn't take pics!)

Mom got into her carry-on bag and pulled out 2 boxes..one for bro and one for I!

Here's mine! Bros was the same but with his name on it. Even though we were on the DDP, it was nice to snack on. Mom packed mine when we went home but I have no idea what happened to it..

We haven't been to a Great American Cookie Co. in years but they have one in the mall that's near our new house! I asked mom if that means I wouldn't be getting custom cake at Chef Mickey's or Ohana on my birthday haha.

After all the surprises, it was time for dinner since it was well after 8pm at this point! I was anxious to get to the food court and get one of those new mugs!!! Of course we had stalked the menus on the way to FL and before we even left for FL so I had a good idea of what I'd be getting!

We walked off to the food court and I was thinking Wow, those were already some great gifts and it wasn't even my birthday yet..how could that be topped...WELL..IT WAS!

Thanks!! I love love love the vase! I have other flowers in it now but the pieces that the mickey's were on are still living so I saved those but tossed the rest of it.

Thanks! I mean it wasn't horrible. I guess I'm just picky and listen to way too many Podcasts on here that are OCD about cleaning so why can't I be too?! I didn't use a white glove or anything but old milk in a fridge and dirty surfaces are things that should be checked often you'd think?? lol.

WDW, UNIVERSAL, AND VERO BEACH..OH MY!

There you have it! That is the new PTR title! I debated about doing a separate thread for the PTR but I'll recycle and save the internet "earth" and do the March TR and the June PTR in the same thread..IF YOU DON'T MIND!? As plans come together more, I will modify this post but for now these are the basics:

WDW, Vero Beach, WDW (see details below)

TRAVEL:


Either flying or driving. Flights are too much $$ right now so driving is always an option so stay tuned!

DINING:

No DDP this trip. We'll pay OOP for all meals and I'm thinking about buying the Tables in Wonderland card but I need to verify what restaurants are good for it. Since I have an AP it will be $75. I had it when I lived in FL and enjoyed using it!

TICKETS:

USO will be free bc of Bro. We won't be going to WDW this trip (my parents at least) but we will probably do an early fall trip and one in Dec too.

Here are some pics that I've found from VB!

Today we called and upgraded to an Ocean View Inn room! It was an extra $166 total so I couldn't pass that up. An extra $166 will give us 2 beds, not a queen and a pull-out like the studio and we'll have an Ocean View!

So things are coming together for the June trip! We've tweaked some things and have come up with the following hopeful schedules A and B:

Schedule A

June 16: Fly out of Cincinnati to MCO and DME to WDW resort
June 17: Universal with Bro, Studios and IOA in a day!
June 18: Relax at WDW, go to DTD, Poly for fireworks, who knows what else!?
June 19: (Father's Day and MOM'S BIRTHDAY!) Drive to Vero Beach/check in at Disney's VB Resort
June 22: Check out of VB and drive back to WDW. Check in at a WDW resort
June 25: Fly back to Cincinnati

Schedule B
June 16: Drive to ATL and stay with Aunt for the night
June 17: Drive to WDW and check in at WDW Resort
June 18: Universal/IOA with Bro
June 19: Drive to VB
June 22: Check out of VB and drive back to WDW Resort
June 25: Check out of WDW and drive to ATL and stay with aunt
June 26: Arrive back at Cincinnati

Driving gives us one less day at FL but with flying comes a lot of head aches too. Driving lets us pack more and take more including golf clubs for the boys and beach chairs since you have to rent them at VB. Flying limits what we can take..no golf clubs and beach chairs. Our bags won't all fit in Bro's car which means we'll either have to unpack at his apt, leave our big bags, take small bags to VB, or rent a car for a few days to drive to VB.

The WDW resort that we'll stay at prior to getting to VB is:

WOOO FQ!! I got a great deal with my friends CM Discount. The 3 nights total was $495 for 4 adults in a standard room. Since all of the rooms will be refurbished by June, we won't have to play roulette with what building we get!

As of right now, we have nothing for Post VB. The only thing with D's CM Discount are pirate rooms at CBR and that's it. I don't have any AP discounts, AAA was booked already, No Disney Visa ones, and there aren't any General Public ones except 30% off deluxe (we can get 40% off deluxe CM so that doesn't work) so we're going to wait that one out and see. I really don't want to stay at a Value so we might be shacking up in a Pirate room for 2 nights after VB! At least you can book and cancel so that's good!

Other than that, we've been researching Universal and VB pretty frequently! I found a Journal/Pen at Target Dollar area today which will come along for the trip!

Anyways, mom and I are pretty excited about the upcoming trip! Any advice or info would be great!

I'm off to go start watching Harry Potter movies! I've seen the first and that was it. I figured if I'm going to USO, I better start watching the movies!

My sister in law was talking all about Vero today! I thought of you They were up that way over spring break, surfing and camping and she said it is a really cute town with LOTS of shopping! I think they ate at a couple restaurants there too, I can check and give you some recommendations. She didn't go into specifics other than to say it was much nicer than she expected and she really suggested my mom and I get our booties up there for a night or 2! She's pretty particular about things, so I think you guys will have a blast there!
