Still no email and, from looking at DisneyShopping.com, what a waste of money!

Still waiting too. I just went to the website and the countdown is now -1 day -1 hour, etc. Does this really surprise anyone that nobody got an email?:lmao:

Yeah and this is what it says for what we've all been waiting for:

If You're Reading This Story... YOU ARE 23!
03.10.09 - "Are you 23?" They may be just two small words and a number, but to Disney fans that came across the D23 teaser campaign in the early days of 2009, they were the Disney equivalent of the Da Vinci Code! And all of us on the D23 team have to admit that watching Disney fans theorize, speculate and state with definitive authority about the meaning of our D23 teaser campaign proved to be a heck of a lot of fun!

A fan posted a magical moment in time from the "Are You 23?" teaser page on a popular Disney blogging site. He (or she) is totally 23!
It all began on December 21, 2008, when a JPEG of an "Are you 23?" poster unexpectedly appeared on LaughingPlace.com, a popular meeting place for Disney bloggers. "A reader sent us a picture of a poster that's started to appear around the Disney Studios lot in Burbank," the post said. "They don't know what the poster is for and neither do we. Do you?" One week later, with litle more than this singular shred of evidence, more than 20,000 unique visitors had already hit the D23 teaser site, clamoring for more information!

The teaser campaign — which simply asked, "Are you 23?" and gave a URL of disney.com/23 — continued to cause a groundswell of speculation on Disney blogs that has continued right up to today. And while some fans came close to hitting the target, most proved delightfully off mark (we're sharing some of our faves below)!

Some of Our Favorite Musings From the BlogosphEAR!

"Flight of the Navigator turns 23 this year!"

"It's the decision to give a Disney's California Adventure restroom building a 23 street address when all neighboring addresses are factors of two." (Editor's Note: Yes, this was an actual theory.)

"It's an animated musical version of the first two and a half seasons of Lost."

"I see the Pinoocchio 70th Anniversary DVD is being released that day… but I have no idea what the number 23 would have to do with it."

"This year is Pixar's 23rd anniversary. I'm sure it has something to do with that."

"Christian Bale's prisoner number in The Prestige is D23... could they be making a sequel?"

"The address number of the restaurant in Ratatouille is 23... interesting...."

"Could this mean free park tickets for everyone born in 1986?"

"Some kind of contortion of binary code." (Editor's Note: I'm an English major. What's binary code?)

"It's the first six digits of pi, duh." (Editor's Note: If I don't know what binary code is, how am I supposed to know what pi is?)

"I've also heard that Adventures by Disney is adding another destination, as to make it 23 places. Maybe that's it."

"Michael Jordan! A new, interactive screen technology so guests can pretend they are Michael Jordan."

"FYI... one of the Lost numbers is 23..."

"I have it from a very reliable source that 23 is a DVC [Editor's note: Disney Vacation Club] ownership partnership with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts and it is going to be a regional-based entertainment and time share facility that caters to the Disney fan."

It's really disappointing. $75 a year to basically have the rights to buy some overpriced tshirts?

Disney wants us to pay for info we get for *free* now on these message boards.....yeah, um, count me in for $75.00... I have an idea ! maybe they should actually drop the room/tix/food prices at the resorts , then they could actually make money without the gimmicks or trying to take advantage of a community of loyal fans:snooty:

DId anyone see that they have in the expo & events section, in the area where they talk about Epcot's F&G Festival, they have it starting May 18 :sad2: how embarrasing for them...

Still no email about D23.
I don't know that I am going to spend $75 on a membership for it.I am very disappointed.

I got the info from here about D23 !! :)

I just got an email regarding the D23 so they are emailing.

I haven't had time to really look at it though and this is the first chance I have had to get on the boards.. I hate when work interferes with my daily Disney time! ;)

I'm not so sure about purchasing membership to D23 either. $75 does seem a bit pricey. But the Expo sounds interesting. I kinda wished it'd be in FL. LOL Only because it's easier, cheaper, quicker for us to get there than Cali. But the Expo sounds like a HUGE company wide event...like MacWorld or any of the other convention type events. So that has my interest. Anyone else curious about the Expo?

Also there's some great info coming out timely on The Travelears web site in case people have missed it.

Well, I didn't get the email, but perhaps it's because they knew that I wasn't about to shell out $75 so that I could buy more stuff. No thanks.

The emails will take a very long time to send. Not only are there so many that can be sent at a time, but they have to be throttled based on the recipient's domain because if yahoo.com sees too many emails at once coming in from a single source at once for example, it will flag them as spam and probably block the sender completely.

anyway, fortunately the news is out there. in addition to all the info i've been giving out over the past couple of weeks, i also have a lot of new details about d23 that weren't offered to the public.
