Marathoners - it was colder than...

So I did my first marathon this weekend. Yes, it was cold, but little did I know how cold! Here's how I found out...

An old college friend of mine flew in from Boston to surprise me at Disney. He had done marathons through college and a group of us would always go cheer him on even though it was at least 6 hours to each race. He decided he wanted to pay me back by coming to my first marathon! As we ate dinner Saturday night I asked him about what to wear. I still hadn't decided on my layers and though he'd have some good advice. He said he hadn't done too many cold weather races then he said, "Oh wait, I did Antarctica. But that was in the 30's"

So WISHers - you all just ran a race that was colder then the Antarctic Marathon!!!

That's my bucket list marathon.....and they do allow chairs.

I remember seeing his photo album from the race- it was so cool! There was all sorts of different terrain - sometimes he was running on ice, sometimes on frozen dirt, sometimes rocky areas.

His next exciting race is this summer - Safaricom in Kenya!! He won't have to worry about the cold weather there!
