Marathon weekend Volunteers

Just wondering if anyone else got their Marathon weekend volunteer confirmation. I did and I am disappointed that the position they have me in is NOT the one I signed up for. I know they say that they place people depending on need and that nothing is guaranteed but I am really upset with the assignment I got. I signed up as a course monitor Magic Kingdom and the position they confirmed for me is Screaming Fans Volunteer - World Drive. The main reason I signed up is because I wanted to be near or in the Magic Kingdom so that the next day when I am running the full I don't get as choked up when I get to Main Street (I don't know I guess I felt like I would have a little preview the day before to calm my nerves)

I am sure there is nothing I can do about it so this is basically just a vent - I am hoping in a month from today I will be a little more excited about my confirmed volunteer position - today I am not so excited (and YIKES its officially only one month from today for the half and one month one day for the full )

Tricia I haven't gotten anything. I will be really annoyed/disappointed if I don't get what I signed up for. I didn't realize they can move you wherever. It's not great for two reasons--one is that I picked something that fit the time slot I was intereted in, and two, I wanted to be with my fellow WISHers.

I got mine today also, WS #11 for the Full. Not sure what the Parking thing means.... Are we supposed to just go and park there where it says. I guess after I check in at the expo there will be more info!

Ok, now I'm really worried, I really hope to not be in a water stop and not up before last call.

I still haven't gotten anything, I think I might have deleted an email from them. So I hope that it comes via snail mail. So I have a small heads up for when I have to be where before I get to the Expo.

I got my assignment in the mail yesterday. I didn't get the assignment I signed up for either but this one is awesome.

I have been assigned to the RUnners Retreat tent on marathon Sunday! I am running the half on Saturday.
What I am a little bummed about is the time. I had signed up for 2:30 - 6:30am. What I got was 1:30 - 8:30!!!! That's a lot of time but it's OK I guess. I dont' know what I will be doing in this tent, but at least if it is cold I will be fine and if it's raining, even better.

Kris, who will go with the flow. Who needs to sleep "in" anyway.
