Marathon weekend roving reporter live trip report

Here's the view from my balcony:

looking out towards Animal Kingdom - you can see Expedition Everest in the distance to the left of the shell.

I actually never knew you could see the Magic Kingdom from the Swan. If you look closely, you can see Space Mountain and the Contemporary just to the right of the fish.

I took a stroll around the Boardwalk. Beautiful day, but it was dead, dead, dead on the Boardwalk.

I'm off to the marathon expo to pick up my bib.

Howdy everyone: I went over to the Wide World of Sports to pick up my marathon bib, t-shirts, and stuff. Here's the scene at the Wide World of Sports.

After I picked up my bib I headed over to Pop Century where I met up with about 70-80 fellow teammates from the WISH boards. It was great meeting people that I had been corresponding with over the boards for so long. Some were old friends I was seeing again, and some were new friends that I was just meeting. It was a great night. Had some dinner there, and headed back to the Swan to get ready for the race tomorrow. I gotta get up at 3:00am in order to catch a 4:00am bus to the starting line.

Wow, that looks like such fun. : I would love to run a marathon, if only I enjoyed running.

Alicia, I was talking to a friend and WISH teammate, and she said the same thing. The Disney marathon was just the thing to get her going. She never wanted to run, but running through the parks at Disney was enough motivation for her.

It's part of the reason I started running too.

3:00am... I'm up and need to get ready for the race. Uuugh, this is the part of Disney races that is noooooo fun. They start them sooooo early. They have to get you through the parks before the crowds get there. 3:00am... why did I sign up to do this?

Oh no, not mocking at all... I think I've washed my hands every 5 min or so.

And, you don't want to be in FRONT of a hurling marathoner. You don't want to be behind a marathoner with the... ummm... "runs", so to speak.
