Well…we are off I-75 and into the unknown. There was a sign announcing an incident that had all lanes closed before the Turnpike. This is going to add a good bit of extra time. Still hoping to make it to Hurricane Hanna’s, but currently in traffic in Ocala.

Man, the Turnpike is the worst! Our normal drive is 12.5ish hours and when we hit the Turnpike it feels like the longest part of the entire drive. Go, stop, go, slow down, go fast, slam on brakes hard. It’s exhausting

Interesting about them expanding 5K registration. I wonder if they will make other changes there (like adding timing or PoT). That race already feels so crowded.

I’m actually split on this, especially since the 5k isn’t timed. My son wouldn’t have a POT, but he was placed appropriately this time in B.

Another thing that I think runDisney struggles with is the Galloway method. I use it myself and love it. But it does make “walk on the right, run on the left” more complicated. I find that I often have to run (more like jog) on the right bc I am trying to stick over there for walk breaks. But also there are people walking all the way across to the left which shouldn’t be happening.

I found this especially hard in the later corrals. I started in B with my son yesterday, and we were able to jog over to the right before walking. Starting in G today with my friend there was no way to move it was so crowded

Had a COMICALLY bad training cycle lol, culminating in doing my last 20 miler in essentially a Nor’easter with power lines down everywhere, but made it to the bubble yesterday and will make it to the Goofy start line! Psyched to be here!
