I think I mentioned this before, but it’s been a hot minute.

I went to target and picked up a jar of Jif (the only pb worth eating), a sleeve of bagels and some bananas. I will throw most of it away before we leave, since we are flying and just doing carry ons. I’m staying at the swan starting tomorrow so anyone staying in that area who would like to avoid the $$$ boxes the hotels put together, I’m happy to share my stash! OH! I also picked up Charmin so happy to hand out a roll of it too!

If true, this fits right in with the Star Wars section leaving MK on the road to AK. But is Vi still a viable character? Haven’t seen her around Galaxy’s Edge in a while.

I mean just because they aren’t out usually doesn’t mean they won’t pull them for the races. They had Fenec (?) during the Disneyland Halloween 5k. And I know different companies but the point is they will pull out characters including face ones that you don’t see often.

Heck Kristoff is on that list and before RunDisney I didn’t even know they had a face character for him. So yeah them not being in the parks doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t be on the course

One is a character from an actual Star Wars show, while the other was created solely for Galaxy’s Edge. Disney abandoned so many of the initial things they started in GE—when was the last time you heard a CM say “Bright suns!” or “Til the spire!” Vi was quickly forgotten like these other ideas, so I’m surprised to see her brought back.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for a BW bus. They loaded two, finally left at 6:40, and no others have come to pick up the rest of us. This is why I'm usually team car.

Update: On a bus at 6:55.

You can definitely just decline the box. No idea what they do with the leftovers but I'd hope it gets some use elsewhere.

Yes but because of the way the course turns, the busses start back up pretty late for the 5K. I think it was just an anomaly. I've never had it take that long before.

You won’t have to wait post-marathon. The 5k is a different animal. They pre-queue two buses at each stop prior to the 5k. The race runs by the buses, so once those two buses fill up, they can’t bring in a new one until all the runners and course vehicles are clear and the full buses are leaving. That generally happens around 6:30, but I think it was 6:40 or so this morning.

They tried to avoid this issue a few years back by having the 5k buses leave from where they drop off, but I don’t think folks liked walking that far post-race and they switched back the following year.

At any rate, you’re much more likely to end up sitting in a bus waiting for it to fill up before leaving after the marathon than you are having to wait on the bus itself.

Technically, Vi was created for the book Phasma (2016), written by Delilah Dawson. They took the character from the book and used her for the park, since she was a spy and would fit what they had in mind for the park.

Anyone staying at AS Sports know about how often the expo busses were running yesterday? Flight looks on time but I likely won’t be checking in until around 5 so might skip the bus and do an Uber.

Omg I heard that interview while we were on that back road after starting and it made me laugh so hard. Kids are great.

That interview was hilarious! But come on, little dude, even I have a favorite Pokémon!

I think he honestly got nervous and froze lol his favourite character is 100% Pluto, and he’ll tell you that any other time. It made for a hilarious memory though! And my friend was in a corral farther back and was able to get it on video

AS Sports seems so close to the expo that I think you’d be fine. But how are you getting in from the airport? It might be worthwhile to go straight there. I saw folks dragging their luggage at bib pickup yesterday.

Well . . . according to Wookiepedia, the author initially wrote a different character, but Disney had her change it to “Vi” once they decided to make the character part of GE. “Dawson was asked to change the name to Vi when it was determined that the character would appear in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.” So technically Vi was created for GE.

Normal food and drink rules don't apply after a race....it can all be good (even parking lot beers)
