Marathon Weekend 2026

I think I need those blue one’s with the castle. Like the Chip & Dale one’s but since I’m not running the 10k I think I’ll skip. Anyone who wears brooks have an idea of what shoes these are? Might go into a store this weekend for sizing.
The “weekend” shoes were Adrenalines and the Mickey/Minnie ones were Ghost Max. Don’t remember Stitch.

I think I will call tomorrow and see about trying to reschedule. If not, then I may come to DATW for a few hours and then start driving north. That should keep me out of the ugly evening Atlanta traffic. It'll put me getting home late, but it isn't as if I sleep much anyway.
That's my current plan so might see you on the road. Need to get back for work but want at least a couple last hours with the crew before heading back.

Worst case, I guess I will be going shopping early next week! Race shirts make good race under-layers for anyone debating if they want to pack long sleeves.
I discovered last MW that the Uniqlo at Disney Springs is well stocked with puffy vests and their heattech line of base layers (if you're a petite woman, check the kid's sizes). You can order online to pick up in the store, too.

These aren’t great, but here are some shots:
Is anyone enough of an expert to guess at what model these are?

It looks like Chip and Dale, Stitch (not new), a new Mickey Mouse, a rundisney season, and something with a castle on the back? maybe the race weekend shoe??

I think I'm marked safe from the Chip & Dale pair, but glad you all like them! I already passed on the Stitch at W&D, but I'll have to see the black and the Castle shoes in person, and confirm what models they are before deciding.

Well, dammit, I've gone and caught a cold! I had a bit of an itchy throat a few days ago, which has now turned into a stuffy head and fatigue. I skipped my scheduled 50 minute easy run yesterday, and today's a rest day (though I'm working from home), so hoping the extra rest will help. I'm slamming vitamins and musinex, so fingers crossed I can kick it before I travel out on Tuesday. We still have to take down all our holiday stuff and I haven't packed, so it's stressing me out a bit.

I hope it is short lived! Hopefully the worst will be over by next weekend.

Everyone at MSP is coughing right now. Ugh. I’m sure Disney will be the same. Not expecting to come out of this one unscathed.

Did my packing yesterday. I ordered the large rolling duffle bag from Amazon, which is huge and has two layers, and it is stuffed full. I also have a carry on with my race shoes and race clothes. Whoever suggested putting each days clothes in a separate freezer bag, thank you! That was genius. Also, have my laptop backpack since I will have to work a few mornings there. I am really hoping that there is a mini van or large SUV in the executive aisle for National. Going to need it.

I can't recall what I did in years past. Can you take your gel packs with you through security at the airport? I have a bag with about 20 gels in it and wasn't sure if that was going in my checked luggage or my carry on.

Yeah I’m expecting to get sick too, hoping it’s just a cold and not covid or the flu. That said I’m bringing a ton of n95s and not spending more than a day in the parks, so fingers crossed.

Typical me before MW: I stumped my little toe on the bedpost last night. It’s throbbing and swollen and I can’t bend it to walk right this morning. It doesn’t seem to be broken and I have a week to heal before starting Goofy. It hurts too bad to run, so skipping today’s scheduled run. I chalk it up to God’s way of telling me to taper. He knows I need some rest.

So there WAS something to that Chip n Dale plush in the merch vid. It's funny how you can't really tell what color some of these shoes are based on the lighting. In one pic I see a rust or burnt orange color, in the other I see brown.
I saw this posted somewhere, can’t remember where…
I guess in the merch video for W&D, there was a stuffed Stitch in the cabinet with the current runDisney shoes, so I guess there was a precedent for the stuffed Chip or Dale to be a clue for the next shoe.

I've never had a problem flying with gels. I stuff them into a ziplock bag in case TSA wants to have a look at them.
