Marathon Weekend 2016

Some of the runningskirts brand have capris attached. They have two small side pockets on the skirt. Not big enough for a phone, but carried all the little stuff I needed.
I've never tried the belts.... They're not too confining or chafe??

Also.. Re-asking.. Anywhere in Disney I might be able to find the goofy in Training shirt- or are those usually an online purchase?

Since I did it several days after I registered for the race, will there be any issue with my pins not being right there when I pick up the bib? In previous races, I've always paid for the pin in the same transaction as race registrations. I know there is always that little note next to your name for pin pick up, coast to coast, etc.

You'll still get it with your bib.
When we did Princess Weekend, my sister ordered the pin about a month before the race & still got it with her bib.

Good to know, thanks! Since I already have a holster for my phone, I may try just clipping it to the waistband and seeing if that's comfortable.

I'm not entirely sure, but my guess is that it's online-only. Although it doesn't say that online, so it might be. I wouldn't count on it, though.

I love my belt. I got mine at Target, it fits everything I need, and doesn't chafe. I was worried it would bounce around a lot, but it doesn't do that either. My sunnies bounce around more. (Still need to find something better I guess). I pack as little as possible when I'm running, so that might help too. (phone, ID, keys)

I think the shirts are online only. The tweet says "at disneystore.com", so I'm assuming if the shirts were in the parks, they would have said so.
The other reason I think this is the delivery time. It appears they're similar to a lot of the limited edition tees Disney's been doing lately, and they'll only manufacture what they sell.

So you wear a belt and skorts with pockets? Are the pockets on the shorties big enough for a phone or do you really need the belt for that?

Yes during the marathon I wore both. For the marathon I had a camera in the big pocket and my phone in the small (which I discovered I didn't really need since I decided not to listen to music.)
Then the pockets held Gus, Kleenex, stuff that got used up. The phone (and camera) do fit in the shortie pockets (as my Jette skirt has 2 pockets), but I didn't like the feel of it resting on my thigh versus in the belt on my waist. I run everyday with the belt for my phone, but only wear my skorts on long long runs or races. So that is why I need the belt. I can't do arm things.

I have a belt that I think is a flipbelt that I wear for marathons and half marathons. Great for ID, CC, gum, bandaid, keys, and Gels. Except the one time I exploded a gel in the belt and it got over everything else. It is difficult to get anything out of this belt while running but great knowing it's all there and won't get lost. Could fit my phone too but I use it for GPS, pace, and pics and haven't figured out how to smoothly retrieve it without coming to a complete stop. I have tried the armband but just not convenient for pics so now I just carry my phone while I run.

Interested in the clip that was mentioned a few posts ago, but wondering how well it stays on or if it beats you up when in motion.

If it's the one I posted, I've done a 10K and a half with it clipped to the waistband of my capris and I didn't even notice it. It didn't pull the waistband down or move around or anything.

This last half, I clipped it to the band of my SpiBelt and didn't notice any difference. It was well worth the $7 or whatever I spent on it with Prime shipping.

Slogger, I vote for you to be the official unofficial captain of Dopey 2018! ::yes:: I promise to keep Dopey 2018 in mind as I train for my first half!

@pamster....you will definitely be ready for Dopey by then. Thanks for endorsing me as a candidate for "Unofficial Captain" for Dopey '18.
I had hope to hit the campaign trail next year and start fundraising, making signs, and preparing speeches. Expecting fierce competition. :sail:

My phone has helped not only pull down the waistband but sometimes my shorts too........epic fail!
I'll look at it again. Hopefully you will have it at DL half to model for us.
Can I add that to the list of things I've volunteered you for already:
Dole Whip tasting class
Shadowbox making seminar
and now Belt/Clip model

If I'm not wearing my sparkle skirt, then I use flip belt. I used to use a fitletic belt, but I had a smaller one and the iPhone 6 (with Apple case) fits much better in the stretchy material of the flip belt. The flip belt to me is much more comfortable than the fitletic and tends to ride up less. No chafing with either one though, since they are over clothing.

I actually really like the look of the flip belt ... but can you take things out of it while running? I don't really need to be able to access my phone, but I do kinda like to be able to grab a tissue when I need one.

Yes, it's very easy. There are multiple locations all around the belt to access items and even a key hook.

OMG. I would sell a kidney for a Dole Whip right now ...

Is there any love for the Citrus Swirls over at the Sunshine Tree Pavilion?

I am not a fan of pineapple but the Citrus Swirls are the must eat item while at the MK. Lets add that the pork shank from Gaston's has replaced the turkey leg.

Fine. I would sell some plasma for a Citrus Swirl right now!

This will be our first runDisney event. We were planning on waiting until this summer to see what ticket packages are going to be available in January, but when we made hotel reservations apparently they do have some packages available through runDisney? Just curious if anyone knows which packages are usually better- those vs. wait for the regular packages that will be released this summer. Thanks!

So I'm doing Goofy. And I'm freaking out. That being said, what was the thing I remember reading about running off the course to snag a McFlurry? ;)

The general public offers are generally much better.
