Marathon trip insurance?

Is there trip insurance that will not only cover things like transportation and lodging, but also entry fees in case something happens be it weather (especially ) or even injury /sickness? If there is just point me in the right direction...

Yes and no. You can insure everything but the entry fee. Look up insurance policies from your favorite air line or travel agent and you will find that participation in sporting events is generally not covered.

Looking at Section 3 on Page 13 the policy excludes: "participating in or training for any professional or amateur sporting competition"

Disney does not offer a refund for its events. However, Disney has started to offer a deferral for their events. It's not a refund and a deferral has a deadline date, but it is better than nothing. It tends to not cover injuries from the last really long runs.
