Marathon Transportation

I am volunteering at the marathon this January. I need to be at the Magic Kingdom parking lot for 5am. I would prefer not to have a rental car. Any suggestions? Any experience with taxis that early in the am? I know the marathon transportation will not get me where I need to be for when I need to be there. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here is my thought for for getting to my area...

1) take a cab

2)take the bus for participants to the stat area by EPCOT and take the EPCOT monorail back to TTC (which is where I need to be)

Any shoughts on this? I know the monorails are running to bring participants to the start areas, but are they taking people back to TTC?

Just wondering why they won't take you where you need to be. They are picking up the runners/walkers. Is it because you need to be somewhere else? I'm wondering how I will get from SOG to the starting line??? It said transportation from resort hotels but since that one is technically military I wonder if I will have problems too. 3AM is a terrible time of the morning to have to be getting a bus!!!

debm ... I have to be at the MK parking lot for 5am. Buses and monorails are running starting at 3 am to 4 am to get runners to the starting areas (near EPCOT). They will not be running to other areas. Since I am volunteering, not running, transportation is not provided, so I was working on finding the best option to get wwhere I need to be at the time I need to be there. (It looks like a cab would be best for me.)

I would think that they will have transportation from SOG since they have a special "military" division for the race this year. but, you might want to double check with race authorities for peace of mind.
