Mar 28 2010 Wonder 4-Night Bahamas - The Tim Hawkins Cruise

My girls have grown up in the clubs, now they are 15 and 16 and the have earned the right to go to the TEEN CLUB. They will love it. If you have any questions, let me know and I will get Rachel, who is 15 to post and she can talkto the boys.
We just booked a room across the street from Atlantis a cheaper way to ge tinto Atlantis, so we'll be there the Nassau day. Yippeeee!

we are thinking fo booking a room at comfort inns too! What is their policy? do you reserve only with a credit card or do we pay in advance? Also, there are five of us, 2 adults and 3 kids, so would we have to purchase 2 rooms? That might be a dealbreaker for us if we did, but I think there is a max 4 occupancy? HELP!! LOL

Hi everyone! We're on this cruise too and very excited!!! We went on our first Disney cruise this summer and had a great time. DH and I are both teachers and have Spring Break at the same time for the first time in 8 years....so we couldn't pass up kids sail free AND the same Spring Break!

We have 3 boys Matt is 11 and Jack and Ryan will be 7 by the time of the cruise. Looking forward to getting to know everyone! :goodvibes

we have a Matt too!! He will be 10 at time of sailing!! Hope they become friends!! We also have another son, Tyler, who will be12 and Paige, 13. I think your Matt, our Matt and Ty will all be in the ssame kids club!! Now looking for a teen friend for our Paige!!
:woohoo:

Ok, this is super interesting and thought provoking!! ! I was looking at some old posts from the cruise we were scehduled for last year. We had to cancel after my oldest son got accepted to Washington State University and was supposed to be at College by 8/19. It was the Wonder Cruise of 8/16/09, and you both were on it!! (Well, I gather from these posts, that tinklover had to cancel too ::sad:) Seriously, what are the odds that we would all now be together on this one!! Weirdness, but I take it as as a very positive sign our paths were meant to be crossed!!

That is weird!! We were originally booked for next week (Oct 2009) but got notice Wonder was going into dry dock. It was really hard to figure out a time that worked without pulling kids from school so we booked for the summer. The only problem was that we already had a summer vacation booked and it just didn't make sense to us. So, we gave up our SPH rooms and booked one of the SVR for this trip! I can't believe it is less than 6 months now - it seems like we have been waiting forever. I have been thinking about it more and what kind of things we want to do. DH and I stayed at the Atlantis a few years back and I'm not sure I want to spend the money for all 6 of us to do that. What is everyone else planning?

wanted to rent a room at comfort suites and gain access to atlantis but there are 5 of us and the sutes only accomodate four! Anyone know how work around that? ? I think someone said I could get one pass on the cruise and then get the other 4 at comfort suites?
In 2004 we did the blue lagoon and that was fun! Actually, I am such a beachy kind of person! I would be over the moon just to hang out a beach all day and swim and sun!! My hubby would like to gamble a bit I'm sure! Wonder how to work that scenario? LOL:cool1:
Take care!

I booked on the internet, confirming the fact we could cancel our reservations up to 5 days before we arrived without penalty... in case it is cold, rainy or whatever!

Ms. Mixon,

Thank you for your interest in Comfort Suites Paradise Island Bahamas.

One night bookings can only be made on our website www.comfortsuitespi.com, and there is a maximum of four persons including children allowed per room. Sixteen (16) and older are charged as adults.

10 or more rooms are necessary in order to receive a discounted group rate.

Although check in is at 3:00 p.m. if you arrive before then and your room is not ready the Front Desk will pre-check you in, store your luggage and present you with your ID cards for the Atlantis. You can then return to pick up your room keys.

The ID cards given are shown at the Atlantis towel huts where wrist bands and towels are issued.

Yours in Hospitality,

Atlantis meal plans are not available to Comfort Suites guests. However once credit is established at Comfort Suites, guests are allowed charging privileges from Atlantis operated restaurants and bars. This comes in handy at Atlantis pool side where cash is not accepted – room charge or credit card only.

Yours in Hospitality,

Jérah

Thanks for posting that. It is my understanding that the CS used to allow 5 but no longer do. I have read that you can purchase wrist bands from the Atlantis but depends on occupancy. You can book one person (an adult) directly with Disney or find others that may have a room with less than 4 and split cost. I think my kids are too young to bring. What I remember is that the Atlantis pool area is HUGE and I have visions of a not very relaxing day chasing after the boys and wondering where everyone is. We are leaning to the pirate tour.

I seriously have the same fear too!! I can't even relax when we are at the typhoon lagoon so the enormity of Atlantis does frighten me. I kind of panic when I'm not familiar with my surroundings and my kids are out of my sight!! No fun, right?? So something to think about. However, I do know my husband would like to see Atlantis so................thankfully, we have some time to decide~~

Still not sure but thought it best to do it now before they possibly run short of avaialbility. No doubt it is sooooooooooo much cheaper than going through Disney. My kids are all over 9 so would be charged the adult fare!! ouch.....like $160.00 each!! Ok, so as we are a family of five, I can just get an additional arm band through Disney, correct? AT least that is my understanding! Anyone know for sure?
Also, the room was $308.00 for anyone intersted..........
The cancellation policy is kind of confusing though. anyone care to expound on this? Not sure I understand.......

Guarantee Policy:
Your room will be held until 7:00 AM the morning following your scheduled arrival date. If you do not arrive and do not cancel your reservation by the cancellation deadline, your credit card will be charged 1 night's stay plus tax.

Michelle,
now you are making me think that I should book too!!! Not sure if my mom is interested or if she wants to stay on the boat. Anyway, did you book for arrival on Monday/check out on Tues? I find it so confusing and I'm not sure why???

Hi Mary!! Yep.........I made it for Monday March 29th with check-out the following day...but not really, right?? You know what, it is confusing!!
Yeah, I booked it and hope the rates come down a bit!! We can always cancel, right? :thumbsup2
Just wondering though whatever one else plans to do in Nassau??:grouphug:

I was in Nassau with the cruise 7 years ago.. been sailing 7 days since then.. and we just went to the straw market, took a buggy tour of the island and got back on the ship. I went to the rainforest at the spa, the kids went to the club and my husband took a deckside nap. I msut admit, it was a nice day. My children who were then 7 and 11, liked the clubs better than going into the ports.

I think that is very cool that we were supposed to be on the 8/16 cruise together and now we are going to be together on this one! :thumbsup2

We did go on the 8/16 Wonder cruise and it was our first Disney cruise ever - we had such a great time, we decided to come back again - :woohoo:

We went to Atlantis and we are also a family of 5, so let me tell you all what we had to do.... we booked a room online for me and the 3 boys checking in the day we docked and checking out the next day. DH had to get an excursion through Disney. Even though a kids excursion is cheaper, DCL will not allow a minor to book one alone (for obvious reasons.) So, I took the boys by taxi to Atlantis, and DH took the DCL transportation there and met me. It was easy. We spent the day there and we came back by taxi together. By the way, when I checked into CS, I told them that I didn't want the room - I checked in and checked out at the same time so I didn't have to come back to check out. It is about a 15 minute walk back and I didn't want to have to do that. Also, remember that Atlantis is cashless - so you need to bring a credit card to charge everything! We loved it. Not sure if we are going back again though since we just went.... It is more money during Spring Break - we didn't pay $300+ per room during the summer....

I am hoping that our kids can get to know each other - that would be great! I know that Matt had a great time hanging out at the pool watching movies on the big screen with some of the guys he met on the last cruise.

We are 99.9 percent sure we are doing Atlantis via Comfort Suites! We did the Blue Lagoon Excursion when we were there in 2004 but my husband did comment then if we ever went back that he would like to go to Atlantis. So, it looks like we will!! :)
I really hope our kids can get to know each other before the cruise too!! That would be awesome!! Take care!!

....don't know why I didn't check this board earlier, but am so glad I did! Hey you guys! We are in for this cruise and we are so excited to see that Tim Hawkins will be onboard! He is great!!:thumbsup2
The last cruise we took we had a couple of the Pirates of the Caribbean actors on board and they were nice from what we could tell (from a distance, we didn't pay the big bucks to mingle with them).;)
This will be our third cruise (all 4 day) and on Spring Break, we are planning a few days in the parks first if all goes well. Anyone else thinking of doing that?
Our crew will be me, DH, DD (14) and DS (5). I am hoping our daughter will actually go to the Teen club this time, she hung out with us the whole time last time. She said she didn't know anyone else. Maybe things will be different this time. Now, our son was a different story! He loved the clubs! He wanted to go there more than be with us!:rotfl:
Anyway, just wanted to get in on the fun and say Hi!!:yay:
