I would just like to say thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes, THANK YOU!!
My day started as they always do: I was up all night afraid if I closed my eyes I would over sleep and miss my 7:00 am flight. Just as we were pulling out of the driveway it started to snow. I got to the airport with plenty of time to spare, thank goodness. When I go through security they always ask to look inside, but this time I had someone new and she took 20 minutes, even her manager came over to me and apologized for the delay and another security person told me he had about 200 Disney pins. I then proceeded to my gate, I turned my telephone back on and there was a message, so here I am thinking the worst at 5:30 in the morning and it was my mom (now, she normally does not get up till around 9), she had set the alarm and called to sing Happy Birthday to me at the exact time I was born. I got all teary eyed. Well now it is finally time to board the plane, everything went smoothly, we started to pull away from the gate and had to pull back up, because of a problem, 20 minutes later we are backing up again, now we have to go through the de-icer. Finally we take off and get to Florida and hour later than we should have. Thank goodness for cell phones, because of the delay, my ride, along with other peoples rides were directed to another airlines area. As I stood at the curb, I could finally see Donna (GotAnyPins) coming to get me. Great big hugs exchanged and we were on our way.
First we stopped at the Otero Bed & Breakfast as I was their guest for my first night there and dropped off the luggage, I grabbed my small pin trading bag that I use for when I just want to trade with cast members and off we headed to the world. We went to the Magic Kingdom, first to City Hall to get my birthday pin and my phone call from Goofy and then to Scoop's seminar. There was a nice size turn out of about 25 people. We met up with Jim & Heather and enjoyed the seminar very much. Scoop has made a lot of changes to it, all for the better, more interesting and more fun!! After the seminar was done, Scoop presented me with his coveted Scoop Sanderson Pin Trading pin, a special one that he had done the background in Mardi Gras colors. I was so honored and wore it proudly the entire stay. It is now my favorite pin in our collection, even more than my Tinker Bell pins. I had a lot of people ask me about it and explained it to them and told them about the seminar and how much they would enjoy it. Well it was time to say see ya all later and we were off to lunch.
Donna, Jim, Heather & I then went on some rides, it was great!! We WALKED right onto everything, there were absolutely NO LINES!! We did some trading along the way with cm's and I got some wonderful pins. It was starting to get late and I had reservations for Chef Mickey's, Jim & Heather joined Donna & I for dinner. The conversation was wonderful, the food was as good as always and the company was GREAT!! Thank You Scoop and the Cast of WDW, Thank You Donna, Thank you Jim, and Thank You Heather for helping me celebrate my 40th Birthday and making my day so special!!! It will always be a very cherished memory.
