I’m pretty sure that’s just their company’s policy and they make all sellers do it so there is more uniformity for buyers.

We had a really wonderful experience with them selling overall but it makes me a smidge cranky if he said that when it wasn’t true. I definitely remember him being insistent it was Disney. Maybe he was misinformed in training. Thanks for correcting the info, all!

I’m selling 2 contracts with them right now (just closed on my direct contracts and this is my funding) and noted they start promoting that sellers pay 2025 dues in September on various podcasts. Which sort of sucks for December use year folks selling, if they have points for 2025 still. The moral is: strip any contract before you sell.

I’d use them again, but wish their title company sucked less.

That’s interesting! The agent we worked with from https://www.dvcresalemarket.com was very explicit that it was a Disney rule and that his hands would be tied if we did something after that date in terms of getting 25 dues back. It was all a pretty quick transaction so maybe something got lost in translation.

Yeah, not sure…there are plenty of sales that go through with owners getting reimbursed.

Now, for closing after a certain date, I think mid December, buyers have to pay the 2026 at closing so maybe it was more related to that?

I do think though that more often than not, owners offer to cover them.

Points loaded 20th.

Booked trip for April 2-11. The only studio with lots of availability was Saratoga but one night in the middle wasn’t available. So we have like 5 nights in a studio then 1 night in a 1 BR then 3 nights in a studio all at Saratoga. Total points 201 which is great because my contract had 200 banked points.

So I banked 199 points into 2026 then booked Aug 8-15 at copper creek studio for about 125 points.
