My wife and I just got back from our 10th anniversary trip to WDW. When we were in EPCOT most of the future world rides (Sorin, Test Track, Mission Space, etc.) were open until 9:30pm (when the world showcase closed). In fact, about the only thing that closed at 7:00pm was Innoventions. It was NOT an EMH night, so it wansn't because of that. Does anyone know if this is going to be a new policy?

I hope it is a new policy, or one they've considered returning to. I think it was like that years ago, wasn't it?

It was like that when we were there the end of Nov/beginning of December. I was happy to see attractions in FW still open and going strong when normally they would've been closed!

I never liked the idea of closing FW early to entice people into World Showcase. :confused3

I thought that they were going to close at 9:30 during EMH. Even a castmember we asked said it would close then, but we rode all the rides until 12:30am. They didn't close...I think they were running until 1am, because people were still in line. I was really happy about that and we had a great time!

Not a new policy - just WDW trying to offer a little magic, especially for attractions that have long waits all day. Expect this to change once we get past the holidays.

Always been like that - just worded strangely in the Times Guide. During the holidays the following attractions will be open until 9:30 ... The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Soarin', Test Track, Mission:Space, and Spaceship Earth. Everything else closes at 7:30. After the holidays the closing times return to 7:00/9:00, respectively.

The idea that closing FW early encourages people into the WS is a little ridiculous. The people who want to see the WS are going to see the WS. Keeping FW open later would help even out the crowds thoughout the entire day in both. As it is now FW is packed early and the WS is packed late.

Your probably right. After the holidays it will probably go back to being the 7:00pm close. Is there any way to find out in advance. We are planning a trip with our kids in late February and it would be nice to know before we get there.

As far as I always remember FW stayed open until at least 9:30, even though the times guide said 7 pm.

The major rides have been open till closing time for years now in FW.

Yes they have, but now some of the others are too, such as Club Cool, for example.

But as others have said, once the hours shift back to 9pm, only the major ones (TT, Soarin, M:S) will stay open in Future World past 7pm, most likely.

During the busiest week (Christmas to New Year) Future World is open until 9:30pm. It will change back to regular hours after the New Year.

Even in January of this year, the times guide says Mission Space, Soarin, Spaceship Earth and Test Track (although it was being refurbed when we went) were open until 9. But it also says Future World is open from 9-7.

Yes. Regardless of the wording that says FW "closes" at 7pm (or 7:30pm)...
the "major" FW attractions do not close at 7pm (or 7:30pm).

TT, MS, SSE, Soarin' and (just recently) The Seas with Nemo, all stay open continuously until IllumiNations starts.
And that is true for every night of the year.
