I'm looking to try and trade into the Manhattan Club at the end of January when I take my daughter to see a Broadway show (Newsies - she's a total fan). Has anyone had luck trading in? Does anyone have any feedback? TIA.

:)

I have stayed there, but traded in through another time share. The furnishings were rather worn. I wasn't impressed with the quality of the Manhattan Club, but the location can't be beat. It is right next to a subway stop and within walking distance to Central Park or Times Square. I would definitely stay there again, but the rooms definitely needed updating when I went (3 years ago).

We are booked at the Manhattan Club for Thanksgiving week using our DVC points. Booking was mostly "easy" except for trying to determine the exact right date for calling in. I received different answers from each DVC CM I spoke with ... expect something at/near/not more than 180 days from travel.

You can either book the Manhattan Club via DVC RCI or the concierge collection. RCI availability does come up, but often it is only for one night(when I was looking earlier in the year, they were already showing availability for 2014--it didn't last long) You will have to check the DVC/RCI website daily to see what is out there.

I stayed here over the summer when I did the ABD NYC Dreams trip(this was the ABD hotel). I thought the hotel was fine. We were in a 1 bedroom suite. There was a microwave and mini fridge, so you won't really be able to cook--but who needs to with NYC outside your door! There are two bathrooms in the 1 bedroom suites. My only complaint would be that the hotel holds $300 on your cc when you check in(If you don't have a cc you have to put down a cash deposit). I thought that was a little exorbitant given that there isn't anything you could buy that would cost that much.

They do have a continental breakfast on floor 26, but it costs $14 and I was very underwhelmed by what they offered. You will also pay for Wi-Fi but should be able to find a restaurant close by that has it for free. The lobby is a zoo around check-in time(4pm) and they won't allow you to check in early. You can sign all your papers and they will text you when your room is ready. I think I got my text at 3:30pm or so after having arrived around 11am. I had already planned to go to a museum so I just did that while I waited for my room to be ready.

Thanks everybody. Keep it coming.
If you want a studio or 1 BR, you could also attempt a direct exchange with a BG member. There is quite a bit of availability in that system currently.

Dean - what is BG? I am not familiar with that term. Thanks.
