Mangled Attraction Names

noel, LOL!!!!!

OMGosh.... my parents still call Epcot "Ep-a-cot", drives me crazy!

Not a name butcher but my DS still talks about how he was "terrorized" by TOT and refers to it as "Tower of Horror" !

My friend told me they were booking a trip this summer to WDW and staying at "Animal Lodge". I said so you mean Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge? And she said "You mean there are two Lodges??" Clueless!

One of my relatives called Epcot, Epcock. I have yet to figure out out she got the 'ck' sound out of a 't'

DH's grandma calls Epcot "Epcock" too! Whenever the family gets together, all the "kids" try to get her to say Epcot so they can all have a laugh. :hyper:

It's not really an attraction, but the funniest butchering I ever heard was a father saying to his daughter "So what time does Twinker Bear make her flight?"

Twinker Bear??? Who doesn't know it's Tinker Bell?!

I've also heard guests saying they were going to the Hoop A Dooper Show, and some saying they wanted to stay at Disney's Gone with the Wind resort (Dixie Landings, at the time).

My father...not beinghte best linguist in the world kept calling Spaceship earth...Mother Earth.

Well...this one is alittle off color, but we call the Tomorrow Land Transit Authority the TNA rather than the TTA....but the funny thing is, someone came up and asked me where the TNA was!!! classic`

My 5 yr old cousin called Splash Mountain Smash Mountain (he thinks right at the end of the big drop the boat gets smashed in the brer patch)

Epcot is Efcot

Summet Plummet is Slummet Drummet

I heard someone talking at our hotel about where they had gone... they said.... Disney, MGM's Universal Studios, a zoo with Disney characters, and Epcot. I almost went over and corrected them, but I don't think they would ahve realy liked that. lol

Honey I shrunk the Applesauce

BTMRR is Big Rumble Railroad

DD for years when she was younger would call conservation station at AK conVersation station!:teeth:

When my youngest DD was 2 and saw Spaceship Earth from the bus, she was thrilled to be at Apricot. That is how we have referred to EPCOT ever since, and I'm sure everytime we exclaim that we see Apricot, there is someone thinking we are idiots!

My DS4 use to call the MK "Mickey's House". Instead of Cinderella's Castle........it was Mickey's House.::MickeyMo

My sweet MIL (83) calls BTMRR "Big rocky road railroad". It's her favorite ride and she throws her hands up in the air like the teenagers. It's great to share WDW with her!! Her first trip was when she was 80 years old!!

This isn't really about butchering names but confusion of locations. I friend was talking to me the other day about Epcot. He said that he doesn't enjoy it much anymore because they don't have convenient transportation from World Showcase to the front (doesn't like boats) but then he said that he was especially upset that they took out that "Skyview Ride". When I asked him to describe it he told me the one that was like a flying saucer on a hydrolic arm that went way up in the sky and the cabin circled all the way around so you could see the whole park. I then said, "oh, your thinking of the one at SeaWorld". He looked at me and said, "See..that's what I mean! Why would they move it over to SeaWorld, I thought it was great in Epcot! They are ruining the place!".

:space:

DH would call the Concourse Steakhouse as the Concorde steakhouse (boy they eat their steaks fast there!)

DS used to call the Monorail as the mono-trail
DSs still call SSE : the giant golf-ball

I'm sorry, I can't believe other families call it EP-A-COT!! that's so funny!

I thought my DFs DD was the only one!!

:p

Absolutely Priceless!! What a great family you have to introduce her to WDW!! Take her picture there as much as you can.
I hope , if blessed with good health at such a wonderful age, I can be a Rocking Granny on the "Big rocky road railroad" too!!

My 4 year old DS calls the Muppets, "the Muffets." We tried to take him to see the 3D show but he declared very loudly, "I don't want to see the Muffets. I don't want to see the Muffets." We totally cracked up.

My 34 year old wife likes to ride the space coaster at MK. She has never heard of Space Mountain. "I don't see any mountains around here!" she will say. ARGH

In my family, it is always the first on who sees the "mono-whale" wins the prize of the day! We also sing in IASW "there is so much that we share when we are in our underwear....."

how about when people call the fast pass service... fast trek or fast cut or im first not you...

and i really love it when people want to ride Jaws or something like that...
