Sunday 13th June ~ High - 93F
Sadly we got up around 7am, and after getting changed we left our stateroom at 7.40am. We didn't bother with breakfast as it was a little early too for us, and we weren't hungry anyway
After a few last photos, we disembarked and headed down the escalator to collect our luggage
A porter helped us find our luggage and thankfully he knew how to weave in and out of the very large line to the Non US area of customs
At 8am we were sadly driving away from Port Canaveral and our ship
Thoughts
Well as you have probably noticed, we had an AM-AZ-ING cruise
~ Stateroom - we loved the location of our room which was on Deck 5, portside and aft. The only thing that let it down was the verandah, we didn't like the covered glass, as we usually like to sit down and watch the sea, it felt as though it made the verandah smaller too, but to be honest we spent a lot of time walking and relaxing on Deck 4 so it wasn't too disappointing
~ Stateroom Host/Dining Team - they were all brilliant and helpful. We would bump into Dom, our room host (though never actually saw him in our room) and he would stop and chat or take a photo for us if we asked. The dining team were excellent too, nothing was too much for them
~ Palo - well what can I say ? All 3 of our visits to Palo were very enjoyable it's somewhere that always adds more to our cruise, we just love it, and having the chance to have High Tea was brilliant
~ Tablemates - We lucked out with the three other couples that we shared our table with. They were so friendly and we always spent an enjoyable couple of hours in their company
** Roll on the next Cruise **
Back to WDW
The journey back to Walt Disney World went quite quickly and we arrived at DHS for the final Star Wars day around 9am. Once again it was very hot and very busy too.
Unfortunately we couldn't get to see the characters that we missed last week due to the lines, and the heat was just too much so we left the park and went to check in at the Pop Century
Check in was empty, so we were seen straight away, and moments later we were assigned a king size bedded room near the Computer Pool
Before heading to our room we had lunch at the food court where we both had Beef & Broccoli
After lunch we drove round to our room and quickly unpacked, then we spent a good hour or two by the pool, and I got some washing done too
After a lazy couple of hours, and a chat to the girls on Skype, we took off for the Florida Mall for some serious shopping. Thankfully the girls had given us a list (with pictures) of some of the things they liked (cheeky monkeys !!)
Our first stop was at Hot Topic where the young assistant found just about everything on the list (yay !) and Paul's credit card had it's first seizure
Next we went in search of some Uggs for Kerry. We were really struggling as most shops weren't expecting any stock back in till the Autumn, but thankfully someone suggested The Walking Company, and after showing the assistant the picture, we left the store leaving Paul's credit card hoping for the kiss of life
When we got back to the Pop, we Skyped the kids and showed them some of the things we bought them (we could see them all settled for the night in our bed
), and they seemed very happy with our purchases
After our chat we drove back to DHS to see if the SWW crowds had died down, but sadly all the characters had gone. It was still very warm so we cooled down in MuppetVision 3D, then ambled around the park grabbing some dinner (cheeseburger & fries for Paul and the flattest turkey sandwich in the world for me). We decided we would line up for one ride, so we chose Tower of Terror, when we got to the entrance a young lad approached and asked us if we'd like some Fastpasses ~ yeah thanks ! and off we went
Once again we had the new drop sequence, and when we got off we went to grab some Cookies & Cream ice-cream
We were feeling really tired tonight, so we headed back to the Pop and had an early night
Tomorrow ~ Epcot
