Tuesday 2nd January ‘07

We were up at 7am and had brekkie in our room. We caught the bus over to the Magic Kingdom. We watched the opening ceremony and we were let in around 8.50am, and we noticed that it was really busy.

Anyway, we dashed up Main Street, and took a right at the Ice Cream Parlour towards Tomorrowland, which hadn’t opened yet and there was a small crowd waiting to get through. Anyway the CM’s let us all through and the majority of the crowd head for Space Mountain. Now we have been in this position before, so we legged it to Buzz Lightyear and somehow managed to be first on the ride. Anyway when we got off the CM’s were clapping and telling us to head to the ride photo area, as we were Buzz’s Family of the Day, and we were going to get our ride photos free and a certificate ~ Brilliant !! (that’s the 2nd time this has happened to us).

We rode the TTA, had some photos with Stitch, rode the Carousel of Progress for the first time (and probably the last ~ it was rather boring), Space Mountain and then we taped the HSM Pep Rally, which again was very good and you just can’t help but sing-a-long to.

Once again we had chicken dinners in Cosmic Rays, we then caught the train in ToonTown Fair to Frontierland. As we got off the train, we noticed that the train on Big Thunder Mountain had broken down on the hill and the passengers were being evacuated, so we thought we’d leave that for another day.

Then it began to rain again, so we made a quick exit via the shops and then we caught the bus back to the Pop, where we jumped in the car and took off for the Florida Mall.

Paul bought me a lovely dress in Dillards for my birthday that I could wear on the Cruise, Kerry bought some tops (yes more), Paul got some stuff from Hollister and I got Kerry a birthday tiara for her “16th Birthday” (which you will read all about in a few days), and Becky was actually able to walk away from a mall without buying anything. :faint:

When we got back to the Pop, the rain had finally stopped so we drove round to MGM Studios to see the Osborne Lights. We all bought some flashing things to wear and we taped the lights, which I thought were lovely this year.

Me and the girls had our tea in Pizza Planet, we then rode Star Tours and I bought a T-Shirt as we were leaving the Park.

Once back to the Pop, Paul and I popped to the food court bar for a couple of drinks, where the barman asked me if I had enjoyed New Years Eve and I was informed that I looked like I was going to fall asleep in my Bahama Mama on NYE. I tried to look innocent and pretend that I’d only just arrived, but he wasn’t having any of it. :rotfl2:

Tomorrow ~ Universal Studios

Another great day :goodvibes

I bet the barman's told all his customer's about the English lady who likes Bahama Mamas! :rotfl:

I can imagine the barman telling all his customers about you!

Mandy,
Once again enjoyed reading about your adventures. I admire your ability to get so much packed into a single day. Amazing how you managed to have so much park time and still squeeze in TWO trips to the malls. I am, however, suggesting you bite your tongue for calling the Carousel of Progress boring. How could you? OK. Ok, I do see how you could feel that, especially when you're traveling at the speed of teenagers and especially since those teenagers were wanting to get on to the HS Musical pep rally. But isn't it genius on the part of Disney to offer such a variety of shows and attractions so that at any given time, we can all find something we enjoy? Now that you've experienced CoP you know an excellent place to spend a quiet break when your weary feet need a rest or the weather is being too hot/too cold, or too rainy. Now, back to Day 6 of your wonderful trip.

How wonderful to be the buzz family and twice.

What a wonderful day

Lucky you....being Buzz's family of the day.

So fantastic that you got to be Buzz' family of the day. Sounds like it was lovely day.
