Has any one ever had a pedi/mani or a massage there b4? I know it is expensive but we were thinking of all pitching in for my aunt and all of us having a spa day.....??? Any reviews?

It would certainly feel heavenly after a day or two in the park! Sounds like a really cool plan. (Would you like to adopt another Aunt?) ;)

Looks like you might have to post the first review. We would love to hear!

I had a pedicure there a few years ago. They do offer an AP discount (or did at the time).

Sadly, one of my toes got infected from the pedicure. I went back and told them about it, and they offered me a 50% discount because of the infection. I wasn't looking for any additional discount, I just wanted to report the problem and suggest that the person be more careful in the future.

My mom had a massage there during our last trip in October. She said it was okay, but she's had better. I was scheduled to get one too, but the woman who worked there denied me after finding out I was pregnant (they did not mention this over the phone when my mom scheduled.) Since my mom was the one who scheduled the appointments, the woman who gave her the massage took it upon herself to scold her for doing so. She went on and on about how it is dangerous, and my mom should have known better. My mom said this kind of tainted the experience, because she was made to feel quite uncomfortable. Nonetheless, the actual massage was still okay. She still thinks she would have felt differently if the lady hadn't have raked her over the coals beforehand. We contemplated calling the next day to complain, but I don't think my mom ever did. She said she just felt "weird" about the whole thing.

Wow I just looked at their price list and there is a massage for pregnant women right in there. Your poor mom :(

To quote myself on a previous thread :)

I found the spa to be very unlike Disney spas I've tried in the past - the spa really just consists of the treatment rooms - which have thin walls and are rather noisy. The whole area seems sort of makeshift and cramped, and at the prices so not worth it.

I had a massage, it was okay in and of itself. Did not try mani/pedi however.

If you really want a spa day, try the Burke Williams Spa(BW) at the Block in Orange. It is a full day spa. BW would be more fun for a group b/c Mandara Spa is very small. BW has a giant hot tub, steams rooms, saunas, cold misting rooms, relaxation rooms, etc that you could all experience together before moving on to your own appts. BW, IMHO, is just more fun for a girls day out. Mandara is good for a pick me up when needed.

Plus, BW is cheaper & longer for the massages. Also, there is shopping at the block & plenty of places to eat.

I drove there earlier this year from gch & it took maybe 10 min. If you don't have a car, a taxi split by your companions probably wouldn't cost much.

But either way you go, any day is a good day for a spa day! :cloud9:

The pregnant treatments are for women in their second trimester or over. My mom didn't know when she made the arrangements. I do think it was a little unprofessional for the massage lady (mine) to go and tell my mom that I was pregnant, therefore could not do it. It was none of my mom's business, and what if I hadn't disclosed my condition to my family yet? Luckily, she already knew, but that could have made for a very sticky situation.
