Mandalorian meet and greet/ ride/ show

well, was just thinking if there are 2 lands, I know Disney will want one to be the ST, and then most fans seems to want for the OT more than PT - though I think it could be like Episode 3 or 4 and fit

It is cannon that Anakin, but when he was a Jedi and then later as Darth Vader visited Batuu

Yeah, I know a lot of fans only want the OT and that led to a lot of the hate SWGE got. Honestly, I am all for anything that disgruntles the OT only crowd anyway. 😉

For me I don't even care what's canon and such. If I had done it, the place would've actually been called "Star Wars Land" and would've been a mish-mash of all kinds of Star Wars stuff regardless of the era or anything else. I'd probably have put a spinner with X-Wings right in the middle of it. That's just me though.

The more and more I think about GE "master plan" was all about integrating everything (the timeline, characters, attractions and the hotel). They want one cohesive timeline for their little role-play experiment. If the hotel doesn't turn out to a big hit, they might come to their senses and get rid of the GE story and the timeline. I'm rooting for their experiment, I like all of it.

I just don't know if the role-playing hotel will work.

Don't get me wrong - I do like it, but I also don't feel like all that was needed. I'd have enjoyed it as a traditional theme park land just as well. The roleplaying is just a little too intense sometimes.

Once again Disney Leadership stoops for pennies while dollars fly over their heads, While i despise the all IP all the Time model used today, Disney used to never miss an opportunity to cross promote something successful. From Parades, dance parties to an Olympic sized pool on Main St. Cross promotion was used to leverage the success of a property. But the strategy also allowed them to dial back the in park experiences as the ‘next’ big thing came along, but not leaving a ‘dated’ attraction in the park. Unless it was timeless like Monsters or Mermaid

I’ll add...The hotel is going to be awesome regardless, even if the roleplaying thing flops.

I mean, yeah, on the one hand it looks awesome, but it almost seems exhausting to play along like that. I don't know, I might have just preferred a regular resort with Star Wars themed rooms. I mean, I still want to stay there, but, I may not be the primary target I guess.

Like other's have said, Disney set SWGE in the sequel trilogy era that they seemed very quick to abandon (in terms of merchandising/marketing). They didn't even release more than a few toys for Rise of Skywalker, yet there is this entire land that is all about those movies. Now all the marketing push (way more than you ever saw for episode IX) is Mandalorian/Baby Yoda, but they don't "fit" in SWGE so I don't know where they would make their presence there.

I never understood why they didn't create a Launch Bay-esque M&G area in Galaxy's Edge. You could have characters from ALL of the timelines of Star Wars behind the scenes and not ruin the SWGE immersion. Maybe call it a holo-history museum where you can see/meet heroes/villains of ages past.

Disney painted themselves in a corner, I feel, with the setting of SWGE.

You can have the original characters out in the open and it wouldnt ruin the immersion.

well, it is structured just for 2-night stays, and (at least orignally) they said you could participate as much or as little as you want

I think for 2 nights I could get sort of in to it ... I can see it getting tiring after a while though

I am really intrigued to see meals are handled there

Nerd alert (me) I have a whole backstory that I've created for myself when i go to Batuu and I use it when I interact with any of their citizens, I'm sure some are just like "this lady is nuts" but most play along with me and we have fun conversations
i would love to stay at the Starcruiser

Mando wears a helmet and Grogu will probably be a baby for 25 years after the show... They could totally fit into the GE timeline!
