We will be flying from Manchester this November and are going to stay overnight as we have a baby travelling with us. Just wondered which hotel was the nearest to the airport? I want to avoid taxi's/shuttle buses and we would like parking too. I'd like to just be able to walk to the airport with no hassle. I've seen the Radisson Blu, but are there any others?:)

I think there is one called bewleys as well which is on site.I know you dont want to stay off site but the travellodge at rudgar lane is at the back of the airport and 3/4 mile away and we used it with Meet and greet carpark onsite which is directly opposite the terminal doors. The room was £19 and the meet and greet was £62 for 16 nights. We have a 4 year old with us this time and will be doing the same UNLESS dave decides to treat us:happytv: .Dont know if the radisson blue includes your parking though.:confused3

I think all of the others require a taxi/shuttle. I am looking at Bewleys - they have a stay and park offer at the moment if you like them on Facebook. The alternative for me would be Premier Inn and I'm waiting for the sale, when (if the price is right) I will book immediately. I like the look of the Radisson but it is too expensive for me.

we stayed at the hilton, we just crossed the road and went into the airport. lucky that there wasnt alot of traffic as i can imagine its a really difficult road to cross. The room was nice and was only £42

www.booking.com is a great site that allows you to search by rating and price and let's you secure the booking without paying, if you find something and want to change your. I've used it a good few times when travelling to London! :)

i can recommend the Britannia Manchester Airport Hotel we've stayed their twice but it does require a shuttle it does have a car park though.

Radisson is very pricey, Hilton is nice and you can walk to it but be careful of the road.

We have always stayed at the Radisson. You can walk from the hotel through the sky walk to the terminal buildings and it's a lovely hotel

We didn't find it terribly more expensive than paying for one of the 'cheaper' ones and then paying for a taxi to get to the airport.

Radisson, Hilton, Crowne Plaza are all 'on site' but it depends on which terminal you're flying from as to whether they're in walking distance or not. Radisson is the most convenient for terminal 2, but on the dates I've flown they've been at least £50 dearer than the other hotels.

We've used the Crowne Plaza twice now, rate was about £45 room only but we paid to leave the car there which brought it up to £80 ish. They have a free shuttle which runs between the terminals. I'd recommend them if budget is a consideration.

Which terminal you're flying from doesn't matter too much, as all the terminals are connected by a huge travellator walkway system, so at most it will take you 5-10 minutes to get from terminal to terminal.

Thanks for the help. Think we'll go with the radisson because I really want to minimise faffing and be quick for our 18 month old.

We love the raddison, although it is pricey. I think we're paying close to £200 for a family room (which actually is 2 interconnecting rooms) and 21 days parking. We love the walk way and it's only a 2 minute walk to T2 - we love it!!!!

We're staying at the Bewleys in August as it's so close. When we looked at some of the other hotels what they were charging for shuttles was going to be the same as the higher cost for a better hotel (with no shuttle required!)

Two interconnecting rooms would be great for us but they only allow 2 adults and 2 children :( We have 3 children so would have to pay an extra £65 for two standard rooms - it seems ridiculous.

I've stayed at the Radisson twice, I'm a bit of a moron when it comes to airports so for me it was worth the extra spends for the convenience factor. We literally walked out of the hotel and through the undercover walkway to the terminal, it was very easy.

We found the staff at the Radisson very helpful, plus they have a pool if I remember rightly they have a pool which we did use the 2nd time, nice for a bit of pre-holiday relaxation. Only thing that I found slightly average was the food but can't win them all!

I think we will stay at the Travel lodge as my parents will be dropping us off after we have eaten at around 8pm, then will be just a few drinks & to bed. It's only £15 for a family room.

I've stayed at the Radisson before, but also stayed at a farm B&B not far from the airport, where you can leave your car for the duration of your stay, and they'll shuttle you to the airport and pick you up on your way back too.

It was a long time ago, but I think it's called Rylands Farm...

Could be a consideration, I don't know what the prices are like now compared to the Radisson (which I liked as it was just like falling out of bed onto the plane! :lmao: )

We stayed at tge Radsson in a business class room the last time we went to Florida, and although the location is unbeatable the rooms are pretty dated.

We have cancelled our booking for May without penalty and rebooked for the new Premier Inn FT for only £32 - it gets much better reviews on Trip Advisor (its number 2 for all Manchester hotels), more spends for the holiday instead! Were going to go the trafford centre for our evening meal, and we have the v:room booked instead of breakfast at the hotel :)
